Melon Cooler

I love this tea, it’s really fruity and tangy. 5/5

This one tastes a lot like Capri from August Uncommon, which is a tea I quite enjoy. I think I’ll add some mint the next time I brew this to see if I can push it even more in that direction. The flavor is definitely melon. I’d say the hibiscus is unobtrusive in this blend. Nice tea.

Nope. 3 of us at work all had the same reaction. Tried it iced in a last attempt – down the sink. At first it just tastes like a grocery store fruit tea but there’s something about it that makes it difficult to finish even one cup. Stuck with 100g of it now :/

A very forgettable blend. Iced, I got watermelon, with secondary pineapple notes with a shot of stevia. Eh.

If this was the last beverage on earth ever to exist, I would be very, very sad. Thankful that I had something to drink, but sad. Which doesn’t surprise me since I am usually not a fan of melon flavors in my teas, but this one is just plain nasty. The combination of ingredients isn’t a winner for me.

I received two 5g sample packs in two separate online orders from DavidsTea, which was perfect since I wanted to try the tea before purchasing more of the product. I have only tried the tea hot brewed and have enjoyed it greatly. My children and I enjoy watching the colours change as it steeps – goes from a light purple to a red colour.

The flavour is amazing, which makes me want to try it as an iced tea as well. It is comforting to sip while reading a good book or watching my children play outside. I would not say that it is overly watermelon flavoured though. The smell of the dried leaves reminds me more of a floral scent and the brewed scent reminds more of carrots. The taste though is delicious and refreshing with more of a melon flavour.

Hot-brewed this and then stuck it in the fridge overnight, part of a new plan to finish off some older fruit teas that really are best cold. It was actually pretty good! Solid melon flavour with a fair dose of tartness, but not enough to make it unpleasant. I looked up my previous tasting note and apparently I’d said it would be one I’d consider repurchasing – I have to agree with that. It would make an excellent summer drink. (I snuck a bit of this hot and it was actually ok; it didn’t taste too much different when chilled, but certainly satisfied my thirst better, for whatever reason.)

I did not care for this at all.

DT has just been all over the place with their melon teas lately. Don’t get me wrong. I adore melon teas. Many of my all-time favorite teas are melon blends. That said, some of DT’s melon teas are great (Sour Watermelon, Melon Drop, Honey I Dew…), but most have been so underwhelming as of late.

Let me start by saying that I knew I wasn’t going to be a huge fan of this because…carrot. Ugh. It’s in everything and it makes my taste buds so very unhappy. In addition to that, watermelon is probably my least favorite melon to be featured in a tea.

Dry, this tea’s aroma is giving me shades of Bath & Body Works’ Cucumber Melon body splash. Once steeped, it’s very melon-y and sort of tongue-tingling tart (from the pineapple, I’d assume). I don’t taste the fig much, but the carrot is so present on my palate…and, again, it lingers. I had a few sips and dumped it. I just couldn’t force myself to finish the cup.

I’m so happy I have a stash of Honey I Dew and that Melon Drop is permanent because most of these LE melon blends from DT are just not doing much of anything for me.

I was relatively excited for this one, but really for all of the Oasis collection as a whole. I really love melon teas though, so this one I was looking forward to. It smells very strange dry and while steeping, and I can’t really figure out what that strange smell is, but when I tasted it (iced) it tastes much much better than it smelled. Also it steeps a bright red colour – which I wasn’t expecting at all really. It’s almost like watermelon juice, but I’m also getting a different flavour in there too, I wanna say cucumber, but I know there’s none in this. Maybe it’s the figs. Overall this is a good refreshing tea for the summer days.

Did not like this at all. Not the smell of the dry tea, or the smell/taste of it hot or iced.

Something in this tastes really off to my palate, which made this undrinkable for me. Sometimes melon flavours taste/smell off to me, so this may be just a personal preference thing. However, I loved Cantaloupe Ice and Sour Watermelon was fine too. This contains hibiscus and stevia, which I often see other people dislike, but I don’t have an issue with. Maybe it’s the combination of carrot and watermelon flavours? As I recall, last year’s Luscious Watermelon had carrot in it as well, and I didn’t care for that.

I got this as part of the Oasis Collection box (which also includes 10 sticks of agave and a 20% off coupon :) ), and this was the first tea I tried from the collection.
