I needed a little pickme up and this was perfect. I don’t generally like floral-y teas but I like this. It is light and the perfect amount of caffeine. Not much else to report here, just that I like it, I would recommend it hot (I can’t imagine it tasting very delicious cold).

NOTE TO SELF: If you need a pick me up, feeling down, sad, or the weather is bringing you down, drink this.

I had this one a few weeks back with my mom and never logged it so this review may not be the greatest.

Anyways, my mom came over to see my little guy Isaac and she enjoys trying my teas and I figured she’d like this one as it’s a white tea and it’s got flowers in it and she likes floral teas… or at least seems to.
So, we made up two cups and took a few sips… My mom loved it, but me… not so much… I felt like I was drinking a cup of flowers. Forals are not my thing and I know that, but I had to try this one, especially since it came in my spring collection box.

Anyways, I ended up giving this one to my mom. I think she’s enjoying it… I think. Hopefully.

Yeah, I thought I’d like elderflower tea too, but it tastes odd if it’s too strong. What about sweetening this and adding it to some club soda? I’ve had elderflower soda and that’s quite nice if you have sugar to balance the flowers.

Kristal

To me, this one tasted a little artificial. Was okay iced, but I just used up the sample I was given and that was it.

Sipdown! 192/365!

This is a pretty boring tea. It has that flavoured-white-tea aroma and some light florals, presumably elderflower. It suggest infusing it into your favourite cocktail, which I think is funny, because there’s no way these flavours would stand up against any cocktail I can think of! There’s nothing wrong with the tea though, it’s just very light and not very interesting. Still drinkable, though, and I suppose if one’s in the mood for a very light cup, this would satisfy. I have a skinny tin of this as well (given to me); probably going to take a while to get through it, because I don’t think icing this would produce anything worth drinking!

This one is pretty old now – maybe four or five years!? It actually was, at one point, a pretty potent floral note. Not super popular overall, probably because the floral notes were so intense and that’s a very divisive flavour profile. I really enjoyed this one; and I think I actually did make it into a cocktail at one point XD

Can confirm that I purchased it in March 2015! My previous tasting note suggests that it was indeed more flavourful at one point, but age has really not treated it well. Ah well!

Another tea my coworker gave me. I think she may have taken 1-2 tsp out of the 25 gram package but otherwise I used the whole package for 2L of tea in 185 degrees F water. Steeped for 4 min, then let it cool off for “iced” tea.

I think I may have overleafed this tea a tad bit, but the main flavours I’m getting is a ever so slightly bitter white tea taste, then floral, and a slight (artificial?) berry taste. My husband says this tea would go well with a shot of vodka, but I don’t see it, lol.

Overall this tea is just okay. Like so many teas I’ve been reviewing, It’s interesting to try, but nothing I’d buy for myself.

I agree with what seems to be the general consensus on the tea. It’s not bad but it’s not great either. The berry notes mask the flavor of the white tea and there is a medicinal note as someone had mentioned. I am glad I didn’t buy the four ounce tin but opted for the 2 ounce bag on this tea. I don’t think David’s Tea sells sample portions generally speaking.

I brewed this once in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and 185 degree water for 4 min.

It really smells like Jolly Rancher candy! Very floral and fruity. I totally over-steeped it by accident (like 20mins) but it was still tasty. It’s got a mineral taste as if there is already spritz in it, but it was pretty strong , too strong, after 20 mins steeping. Also it had this numbing mouth feel from the over-steeping, as if I just had cough syrup…… I’m thinking normal steeping time would be better! :) I’d still have it again. and iced. and as a spritz.

While this isn’t bad, it’s not great. The dominant flavours are berry, floral and sweetness, which mostly mask the green and white teas. There is a bit of a medicinal note which isn’t bad, but doesn’t add anything to the tea either. The dry leaf is really beautiful and the smell is consistent with the flavour of the steeped tea. All in all, it tastes surprisingly generic.

It’s possible I oversteeped this, as my timer malfunctioned, but it didn’t get bitter or astringent.

This is an alright blend but nothing particularly exciting. It is very light and definitely a spring tea with it’s bright floral and fresh berry taste. I just find I want more. I really need to search for the flavors and I just want them to be more present.

Elderflower Spritz. Spring 2015 Tasting #3:

Not a fan. I mean, it’s not bad, but it’s a little too ‘flowery’ for me in a tea.
The subtle flavors in it are nice, but it’s the flower (Elderflower? Peony?) that’s a little strong for my liking.

As I said, not bad, but I defiantly wouldn’t restock this one.

A very refreshing tea, especially when served iced with seltzer water.
