Blueberry crumble. Blueberry muffins. Blueberry pie. No matter how you slice it, you just can’t beat blueberries and cinnamon. It’s a classic combo for a reason – the blend of sweet, juicy berries and warm spice is cozy, comforting and just plain nostalgic. So we created this berry-packed mix of blueberries, currants, cinnamon and rooibos. Try it hot or iced…or use it instead of water in your favourite oatmeal. It’s like a hug in a cup.

It’s a tart, but yummy cup of tea. I can only drink it hot. Some have said it curdles when milk is added, because of the hibiscus. but I have not had that issue. I like to turn it into a latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon stick (if I have any). I find it’s super comforting in the evening, and goes with some desserts (esp. most cookies)

I love this one – spicy and sweet all at the same time. I seem to have a thing for cinnamon-heavy teas right now, but as it’s November, I think that is a fine obsession to have, haha. This is an excellent after-dinner tea, though it’s not as sweet as some of your more typical dessert teas.

I also tried this as an eggnog latte last night, and it wasn’t bad, but I think the blueberry and eggnog flavours were a poor match. I can do eggnog and fruit, but eggnog and tart don’t work so well for me.

I need to try this one again straight – I sampled it in store and clearly liked it enough to pick up 20g, instead of my usual 10g sample.

I wanted to try this as an eggnog latte but it has hibby in it so the DAVIDs employee said it could curdle

Anlina

It definitely did not curdle, though I didn’t even think about that possibility before making it. The flavours just didn’t mesh well for me but no real unpleasantness.

This is another tea I probably would have passed up on if I had not gotten to taste it personally. Cinnaberry is the tea of the day at my local Davids Tea. It is definitely cinnamon heavy in flavor, but coupled with a berry sweet note in the middle, and a berry sour aftertaste. The tea brews up a rich red, from the hibiscus and the rooibos. The flavor is not exactly like a muffin or pie, but the cinnamon makes it feel warm in your mouth and throat, and the berries make it sweet enough to feel like a dessert. I can’t see the sugar listing for this tea online, so I can’t say if that’s where the sweetness comes from for sure. I think the currants and hibiscus save this tea for me, adding a complex sourness to what could be too much of a bakery tea flavor. Not sure that I would buy a bag of this tea to drink at home, but it was gloomy and rainy today and the warm cinnamon rooibos really hit the spot.

A deep, fulfilling, lovely, cinnamon-blueberry flavor, with notes of apple and honey. I first thought maybe I didn’t brew it strong enough, but the flavor is definitely good with the amount of tea I used. I’m excited that this is naturally decaf. It’s an exciting yet comforting tea, almost the flavor of blueberry pomegranate juice, but with cinnamon.

Glad I purchased more than 1 oz!

Addition: for some reason the juice-like comparison made the tea seem less evening-like and I couldn’t finish my cup. :( will try again because I do like the flavor- maybe this is a day time tea

Bleeeccchhhh not a fan, and I’m pretty it’s because of the hibiscus. Whyyyyyy? Cinnamon and blueberry should be delicious, not sour and gross! I don’t think the rooibos base helped, but I think the hibby ruined it. I don’t even remember how it tasted, just that it was not very good. I dumped the last of the cup.

Starfevre

hibiscus ruins so many things.

Cameron B.

I agree, hibiscus is evil! However it didn’t quite ruin this one for me. :P

Fjellrev

I don’t mind hibiscus so much when it’s cold brewed, but still, companies really need to dial it back with the hibiscus in herbal/fruit blends.

Kittenna

Yeah – hibiscus works in only a select few teas for me. It seems fine in Yes We Cran, and Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait (but both of those teas are supposed to have a sour, biting element). Cinnaberry though? I’m expecting cinnamon-spiced blueberry pie, not sour.

Alas, time for another terrible note due to game-playing while drinking tea! :P This one came from scribbles’s giant generous swap package of awesomeness! It looks like a mix of a bunch of tiny pieces with some blueberries mixed in. Dry smell is mostly cinnamon with some sweet berry notes. I steeped for 5 minutes in boiling water.

This is actually quite tasty, even though I suspect hibiscus! It’s pleasantly tart with lots of berry flavor, but then the cinnamon really helps to sweeten it up and balance the sour. Very tasty, thanks scribbles!

Added a touch of sugar to this one and it is very scrumptious. It is nice to have something that really fits the season (baking) without splurging on everything that I made today (regular and chocolate cut outs, 2 kinds of fudge, and banana bread).

I’ve been enjoying this one a lot lately! I’ll have to order some more soon, luckily they still have it. :)

Oh steepster friends…how I have missed you and your tasting notes. Saturday I scratched my eye at work which meant I couldn’t see out of the eye or look at a screen due to the light but now it is healing and I can return to all of you…and my beloved teas.

This is a tasty blueberry cuppa with just a drizzle of brown sugar. It is sweet and fruity and really nice. A great introduction back to my tea cupboard.

TeaBrat

glad your eye is doing better!

Ubacat

Glad it’s healing!
