From DAVIDsTEA

Over the years, we’ve gotten tons of requests for a tea especially for new moms. And with this comforting herbal blend, we think we’ve finally gotten it just right. It’s a deliciously nourishing tea packed with fenugreek and fennel seed, two super-healthy herbs for new moms. And not only is it wonderfully nurturing, it’s pretty darn tasty too – sweet, herbal and slightly nutty, with hints of licorice, cinnamon and cocoa. (MK Kosher)

Well, not many ratings on this one. I think I can guess why… It’s definitely not what I was expecting. It smells quite similar to cocoa canela, but doesn’t taste at all similar. I’m thinking this weird taste is probably the fennel or fenugreek… It’s weird, no doubt. I’m not sure I even like this at all. For some reason it kind of resembles licorice, which I’m absolutely not a fan of. Ick.

I dumped it down the sink.

Day #9 of tea! After dealing with an appealing smell, the taste of this one if off just enough that I’m going to have to give it a miss. Whatever combination of herbs is in this one just does not do it for me, and I think I’m going to have trouble finishing my mug. :(

Liquor Colour: Cocoa coloured cloudy liquor with the prominent aroma of cinnamon and cocoa. Fennel and fenugreek are present in the background

Flavour Notes: Herbal notes preside over the cinnamon and fenugreek, while the fennel adds interest and complexity.
