So I have been looking for a few fruit infusions to sub in for sweet drinks in our home, ones that exclude the gross chemically aftertaste of artificial flavorings. This one fits the bill nicely and the ingredients are kid friendly. My favorite fruity tea from DAVIDsTEA so far.

If you’re looking for a LOT of apple and a little green tea, this is your tea. I received a sample of this first where the sweet wasn’t so strong, and was super excited about it, but when my 2 ounces showed up I had to look into whyyyyy it tasted overly- almost artificially- sweet. I think the blackberry leaf would be better left out and whomever is steeping this tea could sweeten it with their own sweetener of choice.

YUM. Loved this tea hot and iced. A perfect late winter drink, bringing hope of the warmer seasons to come. I’d love this the week before going on a tropical vacation.

Lightly floral and sweet comfort in a cup. Sip, and happily sigh.
I will often blend half this and half Mothers Little Helper as a nightly drink before bed.

Mother’s Little Helper does wonderful things for me:
It tastes and smells great; minty, herby, slightly sweet.
Gives me a happy warm full belly.
Makes me feel much better when I am sick.
Makes me feel super relaxed when I am stressed.
Makes me feel sleepy when I am wired.
And gets the Rolling Stones song by the same name stuck in my head.
I drink it infrequently and mix it half and half with DAVIDs organic Chamomile. Enjoying this tea full strength and frequently will be one big plus for when baby weans, whenever that may be.

drank Yes We Cran by DAVIDsTEA

I was not impressed with the first cup of this tea. It was a pretty dark pink color and smelled wonderful, but the taste- not much registered but the hibiscus. My mistake was expecting it to taste like hot mulled cran-apple cider rather than tea. The second cup was better, and the third better yet. I think with such large pieces in this tea, its best made in larger quantities rather than by the single serving. My husband, who hasn’t been a tea drinker prior to this year, loves this tea, and has taken my bag over as his own. He often steeps it half and half with DAVIDs Apple Custard tea.

Pleasantly surprised by this tea! This is a sample. I was excited about trying a white tea, though its a white/green tea blend, and flavored. The juicy peachy smell is delicious. I’m finding that I looove floral teas, and love the juicy scents of fruity teas (though the fruity tastes have been hit or miss for me). I put my hot water in a mason jar and added a 1.5 tsp of this tea; the scent was immediately amplified. Set the timer and went about my business. When I came back to run it through a filter, the leaves and blossoms had unfurled and were huge! They filled the glass. So pretty. My drink was slightly oversteeped but still quite yummy. I’d like there to be some more of this in my cupboard.

This tea smells just like a strawberry creamsaver candy tastes. The sweet berry scent of the steeped tea is balanced by the tart rhubarb and hibiscus tastes. It is certainly creamy. I then added a bit of sugar, which played up the strawberry part, but I think the tea was better without sweetener. I can’t get over the artificial flavor aftertaste though, it ruins this for me. I finished the tea about 15 minutes ago and the artificial taste is still lingering. I have no desire to try this iced, and would not purchase.

drank Pure Vanilla by DAVIDsTEA

Upon opening the package, the smell was vanilla caramel mixed with musty hay. And something I can’t quite place, though I’ve just recently been introduced to rooibos so that could be why.

The taste of this tea was a lot better than the smell. The first sip was straight, the vanilla taste was most def stronger than the smell. Still a slightly musty caramel flavor. I added a bit of light cream and sugar, and it was a little better. I’d maybe be interested in keeping a little more of this tea (like maybe 2 sample packs), but wouldn’t want to order 50 grams it.

Update: Oh but I did, ordered 2 ounces of it. Wanted a rooibos to share with the kiddo (since its kid friendly) because he loves stealing sips of mommas tea.

drank Coco Chai Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

First tasting note. This was a sample. When I tore open the package, the smell reminded me of root beer Bottlecaps, pepper, and slightly of coconut. First sip was straight, afterward I added sugar and cream (improvement). I liked it, but prefer all other chai that I’ve had over this cup. Still, it was smooth and warm in flavor, and something nice to cozy on the couch with after the babe had gone to sleep. Plus it won’t worsen my new-mom-somnia.
