From DAVIDsTEA

Give in to it

Ah, the pomegranate. In Greek mythology, Hades, god of the underworld, used pomegranate seeds to seduce Persephone, goddess of fertility. In Biblical circles, many think that Eve was actually tempted by a pomegranate, not an apple. What a fruit. We’ve used it to create a green tea that’s just as powerful. Sweetly tart, and seductive on every level. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Organic: green tea, black tea, green rooibos, rosehips, pomegranate arils. With natural flavouring*.

I can’t believe I haven’t logged this one yet. This is my third or fourth drinking of this tea. I am loving it. It seems to be my go to tea for the “I am feeling crappy and need a pick my up” nights. It is a great green that I haven’t managed to turn bitter by oversteeping yet. The pomegranite gives this a sweet but also tart flavour to it. Definately a rebuy.

Uniquity

This is one of the few that I actually drank enough of to refill my tin. Then, according to Steepster, I didn’t drink it for nine months. Whoops.

The first time I smelled this in store months ago, I was a little put off by it, I’m not a fan of rosehips and I found that was all I smelled.
I am on a diet right now and can’t have sugar and am finding that greens are the easiest to drink without sugar for me. Who knew, usually greens aren’t my favourite and I load them with sweetener. So I went to David’s Tea on a mission to pick up a few new greens I haven’t tried yet, which is most of them because as I said, greens aren’t my favourite. I thought I’d give this another whiff and it smelled completely different to me. Very fruity, with only a hint of rosehip.
This was actually pretty good. It tasted a little like grape to me, which I usually get from jasmine teas, and I’ve noticed other reviews mention jasmine, weird. I don’t really get any pomegranate though, but pomegranate doesn’t really have a distict flavour to me, it just tastes sweet. I didn’t notice until today when I was looking at the ingredients (to see if there was jasmine in it) that this also has black and rooibos in it. I didn’t see much for rooibos in the leaf and didn’t taste it either, so if you don’t like rooibos, don’t let it stop you from trying this.
This actually reminded me a lot of three wishes which is one of my favourites, but there might be room for both in my cupboard.

I sampled a cup of this this morning (afternoon technically lol) and it didn’t do a whole lot for me. I get an almost dark chocolate smell and taste in the cup, but the black tea definitely added a bitter note that I didn’t really enjoy. At the start of the sip, the pomegranate is nice and fruity, but after swallowing the bitterness creeps up. I think there’s a bit too much going on in this tea as well, if it was just a green/green rooibos blend I think I would enjoy it a bit more.

I added a spoonful of sugar halfway through and this did cut the bitterness quite a lot, and it tasted more dark cocoa to me, but still not quite good enough for me to purchase. I steeped for 3 and a half mins at 175 degrees, maybe it was too long of a steep time? Just not quite my cup of tea :(

this is a plain fruity tea… oversteeped unfortunately. I’d like to try a second infusion of this one day. It was a to go order so had to throw the bag out- boo!
I can tell that it’s a quality brew though, relatively smooth for being oversteeped and light in flavour. I’m tasting some of the tartness as well, could that be the pomegranate?
Meh. I don’t plan on buying a tin of this but it’s satisfying enough I suppose. It just doens’t stand out in any way for me other than having a decent quality base.

Eh. Another letdown today. This one isn’t as offensive as Midsummer Night’s Dream or Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait but also not something I’ll keep around.

Dry Leaf Nose: Pomegranates.

Liquor: Light golden brown, with a pomegranate aroma.

Flavour: A generally fruity flavour with a lovely tea base – mostly green, but some black tea as well. Pomegranate is the prominent flavour.

LOL. And here I thought I reviewed this one!

At the moment, I cannot think of any green teas that I love. A few that I mildly like, but none that I would feel the urge to keep in my cabinet for as long as it lasts. Including this one. It’s not bad, it’s just not inspiring either. Cannot say that I would buy a 50 g bag of this. I am not giving up on green teas though, just need to keep plugging at it.

Oh I am in need of some seduction, stat!
Smells richly green with a light dusting of floral energy.Once brewed the green tea takes over and it is a lovely light gold color. There is almost a dried fruit / raisin kiss to the scent that is actually quite pleasant.

The taste is of a decent green/black blend with a slight dried berry after taste.

Decent but unsurprising.Quite pleasant though!

No seduction just decency.disappointment!I was ready for candlelight hand fed pomegranates and silk sheets. I think I’ll enjoy this tea but not as much as I wanted to!

My WW leader swears by this tea. The pomegrante apparently is supposed to help. Plus its a nice alternative to water instead of diet sodas. I really enjoy this one but find it can be difficult sometimes.

I am disappointed with this tea. I could barely taste the pomegranates or any fruitiness at all. And it seems to me that this tea taste like green tea and black tea. Overall not my favourite and I found it quite bitter.

When I first smelled this at DAVIDsTEA I wasn’t sure about buying this or not, just because I didn’t like the scent (green tea + fruit makes me think of flavoured medicine)
Well I needed some more green tea for the house so I bought it anyways. Of course this also has black tea and green rooibos in it, but it’s in the green tea section of the store so it must have a larger amount of green tea.

There are so many ingredients in this one that I can’t even really pin point what I like most about it. But it works together really well, and it tastes great. I also think it has a wonderful cost to price ratio. It’s also a good resteeper; during a party with friends, I resteeped it four times and no one seemed to notice a drop in flavour.

I’ve tasted better blends, but this tea exceeded my expectations so I’m happy with it.
