From DAVIDsTEA

A citrus burst

This blend of high-grown oolong is truly rejuvenating. It’s scented with lemon myrtle, jasmine and natural citrus essences, and the result is light, fresh and uplifting. Hot, it’s soothing and citrusy. Iced, it’s an unbelievable thirst quencher. And infused into vodka, it makes the world’s best martinis. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Oolong tea, jasmine flowers, lemon myrtle, natural orange flavouring*.

Nice tea. Not very lemony to me. Just a nice, light tea.

A great lemony tea. Perfect hot after a heavy meal. Probably too good to be true but I read that if you drink a cup of oolong tea you burn 50 something calories each time. So does that mean that I can drink 10 cups a day?? Kidding… but it is a great tea and if there are some additional benefits, even better.

Yum?
Every time I have this tea I have to keep reminding myself: CITRON oolong. Not LEMON oolong. Sure, citron is the french word for lemon, but when you infuse a citron flavour into something you either use lemon blossoms (not common) or lemon myrtle (as done in this tea) not lemon peel. So the CITRON taste should be subdued and almost an undertone. And that’s exactly what it is. It’s not in-your-face-lemon, it’s subtle.

So do I like it? I think so. The bf LOVES it, which is why I bought it for my desk drawer stash. I definitely like it. I don’t know if it’s my favourite. But it’s not like I’m going to throw it out. That’s silly.

I usually love lemon flavoured teas but there is just something about this one I don’t like. I have to force myself to finish one cup of it.

Looking at Citron Oolong, you’d expect something that tastes a LOT more citrusy than the tea actually ends up being.

Citron Oolong is not orange juice in tea form, but it is a decent oolong tea with a noticeable citrus tone from the lemon and orange flavouring, plus a bit of jasmine. I had it hot, but I feel like it could be better iced. If you’re a fan of citrusy teas than this would be great for you, but otherwise approach with caution. If you don’t like citrusy foods, than you’re not going to be a fan of this tea.

Was hoping for more orange than lemon, but lemon it is. I do not find the flower perfume appetizing in the slightest. The taste wasn’t so bad, but just kind of meh, and the aroma is so flowery it put me off. Got this as a sample, so at least I’m not stuck with more!
