I got home from my trip for school yesterday…and I have COVID. cry I managed to avoid it this long, but it seemed inevitable. Luckily it’s not too bad (feels like a low grade cold), and I haven’t lost my sense of taste or smell.

I tend to drink lots of herbal blends when I’m sick. Decided to finally give this a try. It’s nice! A bit of lavender, but mostly strawberry…and blueberry? I don’t think there’s blueberry in the ingredients, but I definitely taste blueberry.

There’s a bit of a creamy mouthfeel from the marshmallow root.

Flavors: Blueberry, Lavender, Strawberry

Drink plenty of cozy tea and get well soon! ❤

The same thing has happened to my partner and I. We avoided it this whole time and just got it (from the guy in the suite that shares our ventilation agh). I hope you feel better soon!

Hmm the chamomile here ends up a bit appley. It’s not bad, but I’m not getting a lot of the flavors I was excited to see in this blend. I don’t taste any lavender, and I don’t get much marshmallow root. It’s an okay blend, but the chamomile is pretty heavy and fruity. Cold, I do enjoy it, but I have to think about it as a chamomile apple tea. It’s not tasty enough that I would reorder it, but it is refreshing and nice. I did a cold resteep, which totally tastes like lavender and chamomile, so there’s that lavender I was looking for! On my latest steep of this, I found myself enjoying it a lot more. I’d describe this one as fancy chamomile apple juice. It’s appley and a little spiced.

So, I saw Kittenna’s & CrowKettle’s tasting notes for this tea – and it inspired me to grab the last little bit that I have of this tea and drink it as my goodnight tea. (Yes, it’s 5:13 am and that’s “goodnight” for me – ah, the joys of insomnia!)

I am going to miss this tea from my stash. I enjoyed it as a before bedtime cuppa – it’s a very relaxing cup. I am generally not a fan of chamomile but I do enjoy it in blends like this. I do enjoy it blended with lavender. The lavender is nice, the strawberry is nice (and I think it brings out some of the apple-y notes of the chamomile) and the vanilla adds just a touch of creaminess to the cup.

Now that I’m finishing off the last of this tea, I’m gonna need to create another chamomile blend soon. Any ideas?

Evol Ving Ness

Apple Brown Betty! Camomile lavender biscotti! Camomile coconut cannoli! Camomile plum donuts! Camomile marshmallow creams (with or without lavender)! Camomile rose marshmallows! Camomile lavender zabaglione! Camomile eggnog!

Evol Ving Ness

What do I win?!

Evol Ving Ness

Oh, aaaaaaand camomile vanilla marshmallow.

52Teas

LOL – sorry, I didn’t plan on offering a prize. But – thank you for the ideas. :)

Crowkettle

I need to renew my subscription before any of those happen (I’m in a creative vacuum currently but love the sound of all of Evol Ving Ness’s ideas).

Kittenna

I am here for another chamomile blend! My main request is that it includes vanilla/creamy flavours. Actually – a recreation of DavidsTea’s Banana Dulce would be fantastic – banana, caramel, (vanilla), chamomile? A lemon cream version would be delicious too. Same with something with blueberry (but that’s probably already done with Blueberry-zzz). I also wonder what a chamomile cream earl grey would taste like…

Kittenna

Also, definite regrets that I don’t have more of this, because it is indeed an excellent bedtime tea. Also resteeped super well; I think I had three additional infusions before I decided to move on.

amandastory516

Banana, caramel, vanilla, chamomile sounds SO GOOD. Chamomile marshmallow cream also sounds delicious. I vote for those.

Crowkettle

Oh, yeah – I still miss Banana Dulce so much! If anyone could craft a delicious banana chamomile tisane it’d be you, Anne :)

Apricot (or Peach) Pavlova with Chamomile Cream, Peach & Chamomile Panna Cotta? (something stonefruit with vanilla and cream flavours).

An “Earl Grey Creme Brûlée” with lavender or Lavender Honey Madeleines might be interesting with or without a chamomile base (I like your lavender too).

tea-sipper

Peachy Keen… you can just add chamomile. :D :D :D

Mastress Alita

So… “Sleepy Peachy Keen”? :-)

tea-sipper

YEESSSSSSS haha

52Teas

When my computer crashed, I also lost the recipe for Peachy Keen. :(

tea-sipper

oh no Peachy Keen! At least the ingredients list is on Steepster but I know that isn’t the recipe…

52Teas

I still have my tasting notes as well, I was in the process of moving my recipes over to ‘the cloud’ so that I wouldn’t lose them but some recipes, unfortunately, got lost in that crash. Given the unusual nature of how Peachy Keen came to be – I don’t know if I’d be able to recreate it to be exactly as it once was. Any reblend would be a v.2 at best. :(

tea-sipper

Aw, I’m sure V.2 would be good though…

I saw Kittenna’s note and realized I’d never logged this – despite ordering extra after loving the subscription sample. I finished my last packet of this off around the start of the New Year but it deserves more love.

This blend reminds me of some of my chamomile favourites: Citrus Dream from good old Butiki, and Moondrop Dreams from Bird & Blend (see a theme?). It’s that soft pillow of floral sleepy times (lavender, chamomile) mixed with an indulgent citrusy creamsicle (this had strawberry, I believe, whereas Butiki used goji and B&B uses typical citrus fruits). It’s charming; I consider this kind of blend essential but I sadly go through it way too quickly.

I hope this gets reblended at some point because it’s fantastic.

(52teas (Anne) 2022: 34)

Wasn’t able to try this until now because chamomile, but I really wanted to. Turns out, it’s really tasty! I mostly taste vanilla/lavender/chamomile, not really any strawberry. I’m also now VERY sad that I didn’t try it sooner, because it’s, not surprisingly, sold out. (So uh, if anyone has a pouch of this and doesn’t like it… hi! :D) So yes, very delicious, and now I’m also sleepy and going to bed so hey, maybe it is also effective? (It’s also well past my bedtime (2:37am) because I decided to make crepe batter for tomorrow morning… priorities…)

ETA: Also, a very good level of lavender here. Enough to taste it, but unless you utterly detest lavender, it probably wouldn’t bother you. Another thing – with these three teas brewed up, (Crangerine Salad, Tangerine Cupcake w/Marshmallow Frosting, and this one), my living room smells so good my mouth is watering. Hoping that this may mean my tastebuds are back to working properly, too!

Evol Ving Ness

I am a BIG fan of Anne’s camomile blends. BIG.

Kittenna

Honestly, this is the first one I remember. I’ll have to see what else I have. I wouldn’t have likely purchased one outside of the sub box, as I don’t actually like chamomile in general.

Evol Ving Ness

I am thinking of the tastes of at least three good ones and I can’t conjure up the names at the moment.

52Teas

Ligonberry chamomile cider from 2018, April Siesta from 2017, Golden Slumbers from 2020. And At Play in the Fields of Love which was a VIT created for a friend – I’m not sure if I did any others? Those are just the ones that come to mind immediately.

Kittenna

I didn’t know of or try either of those first two, nor “At Play…” but do have Golden Slumbers – it doesn’t stand out to me, but have no note for it nor any actual recollection of drinking it… and the flavour profile looks to be up my alley… so now I’m inspired to find it (shouldn’t be too hard).

Kittenna

Sidenote, this is why I now subscribe… I hate that there are teas I never even tried! Haha. Classic FOMO

Mastress Alita

I don’t like chamomile either, but had “Blueberrie-zzz” as a freebie in a 52Teas order and really enjoyed that one!

Kittenna

Ooooh, I missed that one too.

52Teas

Ohh – I forgot about Blueberrie-zzz – there’s probably a few other chamomile blends that I forgot about. I know that Frank did at least one or two as well.

Sample from VariaTEA this one just kind of tasted like a chamomile vanilla tea. Nothing terrible by and large but nothing super exciting to write home about either. Just a nice cup in the evening on a VERY windy weekend.

D is for…Dream On

Late start to my day but this is my cold brew I prepped last night.

It was part of the sub box that Roswell Strange gifted me so thank you!!

This tea I’ve had once before but it was late and I was sleepy and didn’t write a note. Today, I’m enjoying this because of the vanilla and strawberry. I’m not loving the chamomile. However, while usually the chamomile tends to ruin things for me, it doesn’t here. I don’t mind this but it won’t be a restock when I finish.
