Wow, I can’t believe it’s been two years since I discovered this one. Pandemic time has passed so strangely… like, the days and weeks drag, but then the years get swallowed up in a black hole.

I think I picked up the dandelion tea habit in order to reduce caffeine intake (and therefore decrease stress). Today, I’m just enjoying the delicious roasted flavor. Good with a splash of skim milk. Also good for the liver, good for the heart, good for the blood pressure… I’m not even 30 yet, but it’s never too soon to start thinking about these things, in my opinion.

Bumping up the rating on this one. It satisfies like a mug of hot cocoa, without all the sugar and calories. The longer it steeps, the better. My only critique is that I wish the chicory and carob base were a little stronger, to boost the roasty, umami aspect of it a bit more.

Tastes like crisp, sweet, cinnamon-y apple cider, with a bite of that delightfully piquant fermentation that’s characteristic of kombucha. It’s expensive to buy, but way too high maintenance to get a piece of a SCOBY and make it myself… so it’s definitely a treat, but I do love a nice midafternoon ’bucha to pick me up and carry me through the rest of the work day!

Drinking this one hot. Have been working through a harder-hitting bout of seasonal affect disorder than usual this month, and so low-maintenance bagged hot herbal teas are the order of the day.
Unsurprisingly, this tastes mostly of peach and ginger, with a warming, brothlike mouthfeel. Perfect for cold & flu season, as it’s slightly medicinal, loaded with all kinds of healthy herbs and spices.

Well, hello again, Steepster! It’s been a while. Have not been drinking any new teas lately; mostly been sticking with my good ol’ PG Tips and milk.

However, I have really been digging this mushroom herbal blend by Teeccino. Notes of earth, umami, chocolate, toast, nuttiness, and a hint of sweet creamy butterscotch. It takes milk really well, just like PG Tips, or even coffee. Creamy mouthfeel.

It’s a nice, warm, healthful, non-pumpkin spice, autumn-esque drink, and it satisfies the 2:00 “need another cuppa” craving without the extra dosage of caffeine.

Still thinking of and praying for the people of Texas and the other surrounding states enduring the freak inclement weather.

Lovely, perfume-y, full of umami and earthy. Warm. Satisfies my desire for a second cup of coffee without actually being coffee. No acidity and no caffeine. I rely on coffee for survival, but tea is truly the magical side of things.

Today is Ash Wednesday, so for us Catholics, that means it’s a day of fasting and abstention. Drinking this to warm myself up and boost my mood so that I can more fully embrace and embody the spirit of Lent.

I choose to live in the American Northeast, so I have zero right to complain about the winter weather, especially with the amount of cold weather-related suffering that’s occurring in the American Deep South, where they didn’t choose to deal with snow and ice (and indeed are not equipped for it), but… it’s just the truth that it’s bloody freezing out today and everything is coated with glare ice. The wind doesn’t help.
