Sipdown!
I think I’m getting sick, so I’m drinking this down in the hopes that it will chase away my tickly throat and stuffiness. I wish I had honey at work.
This was nice for convenience, but nothing beats boiling fresh ginger and drinking the broth.
Shan’t be restocking— there are better and more extraordinary H & S blends to be had.
Sipdown!
I enjoyed this one a lot. I will probably buy it again as soon as my tea collection is under control.
Coconut, cinnamon, and cloves… who knew?
This one has a surprisingly long shelf life. I’ve had it for a year and it still tastes good.
Buttery green base, bite of tartness from the strawberry and pineapple. Doesn’t taste medicinal or like a punishment, which is good for a diet. Also, thank God it doesn’t taste like the actual Fruity Pebbles cereal, because I would gag and then throw it out if it did.
I still maintain that Tiesta has the best deal going in loose tea. 4 oz of tea for $9? That’s crazy, considering that the quality is better than decent. Not too shabby for an American grocery store purchase.
Mmmmm! Chocolate and cinnamon. It tastes like a fresh-baked cookie. I can’t get enough of the Zhena chais lately. This one is my favorite rooibos blend. Chocolate and vanilla both work well with rooibos. I don’t get much ginger, which is a little sad, but it’s still tasty. I double-bagged it for good measure.
I want to try their hazelnut chai next.
Still not getting a lot of the flavoring in this one. I think chai masalas just work better with black tea. It’s a nice idea in theory, and it does make for a nice bedtime cuppa, and there is a faint hint of caramel and cinnamon and maybe vanilla in the aftertaste, but it’s pretty underwhelming, by and large.
Hit a deer with my car the other night. I’m perfectly fine, thankfully, but it did mean two days out of work while I waited for the insurance to inspect it and get me an estimate.
Car is now in the shop, getting fixed, and I am driving a nicer rental car than the one the deer’s butt broke, so I should thank my lucky stars that my insurance came through for me in my hour of need. Also that these last two days have been unspeakably gorgeous weather-wise.
Treated myself to this tea as a way to wind down from the hectic insanity that car accidents always entail. My expectations weren’t high— maybe I just haven’t been trying the nicer H&S blends? But this is one helluva cuppa. It tastes like something Stacey from Butiki Teas would have blended. The coconut, vanilla, and lemongrass all give it a sweet, spring-y, fine- tea-shop scent and taste. The green tea base is very high quality— I’m guessing it’s a dragon’s well from the brilliant yellow-green color and buttery taste.
It’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s de-lovely…

Thanks! I’m just relieved that: 1.) I wasn’t hurt and that I was the only one in the car; 2.) I have good insurance and 3.) That my car is in good hands while it’s in the shop.
Seriously! I just hope it’ll never happen again. I’m always worried about this very thing happening when I’m driving in the countryside, especially in hilly areas. :/
I was a little underwhelmed by this one. The caramel is there, but it is very light and is most prevalent in the aftertaste.
I think it’s because it’s a rooibos base. It would probably be stronger if the base were a black tea, like an Assam.
Notes of vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and the whisper of ginger also present.
