63 Tasting Notes
I’ve decided to go all in on this matcha thing. I need the caffeine, but mate exacerbates my anxiety. So I picked up the matcha maker (the greatest invention of modern times tbh), shook up some peach matcha, added a bit of milk, and walked out the door. It’s GREAT. When I worked at Starbucks many moons ago, I didn’t like the smell of the matcha at all – like dirt and leaves and (everyone says it but it’s true) grass. But this stuff is creamy (probably from the milk) and light and ever so slightly peachy. I need more flavors, but don’t want to hoard in case it goes bad….
ED: This doesn’t stay suspended and settles at the bottom as you drink it, so you have to keep shaking it up. I don’t mind, but you might?

What a perfect vanilla peppermint tea. I love that it’s a white tea base so I can drink it after dinner, and it manages to feel lightly creamy without any actual heaviness at all. I didn’t realize the Large size for this one was so small and am actually really sad about it. There’s another order in my future!
Flavors: Creamy, Peppermint, Vanilla

I apologize for the size of the “Large” in this case (and the case of all white teas that we produce) – our large size is usually 50g, but 50g of white tea simply would not fit into any pouches that we currently have in stock without crushing the leaves to near dust. Since I respect the leaves far too much to do such a thing and I don’t think we’re planning on having even larger pouches, we must keep our large size pouches at just 25g for white teas at the present time.
Hot dang I am into. this. Brewed it hot and it’s the most delicious coconut mango concoction. Didn’t get too many of the spices – I was hoping for a warming pepper or cardamom hit but didn’t really notice anything. Maybe as the bag progresses? Either way, four for you DT. You go DT.
Flavors: Apple, Coconut, Mango

Once upon a time I hunted this down and had it shipped to me from a far-away DT store. Now it’s permanent and there is a store close to me and all is right with the world….except maybe this tea? I don’t know. I used to really really love it. (I’ve only tried it hot, iced is in my future.) Water quality is really important – I only use filtered water generally but sometimes this tea can exaggerate a sort of minerally metal taste? Just sometimes? I still like it a lot but you really never know what you’re going to get. Oh, and it tastes a lot nicer than it smells (like apples gone off). It’s a delicious tea if you meet it on the right day.

I forgot to rate this! My local shop gave me a cup for free, I never would have picked this otherwise. But holy carrot batman! I’ve had carrots in tea before, but it’s never been as strong of a note as it is here. Literally all I get is carrots and a bit of spice – it’s almost more savory than anything else. Not completely awful to be honest, and I’d drink it again, but it’s too one-dimensional for a purchase. Honestly, if I want soup, I’ll have soup. (My shop was also about to throw it out, so it was cold.)

On my third cup of this steep and I need to add – this is getting better and better. I think all of the chocolate and extraneous sugar melted away in the first/second steep and now it’s just coconut and oolong: mmmm. Changing my rating from a 70 to a 74.
Do I like this? I’m honestly not sure, but I think I do? This was my random I-smelled-it-and-I-had-to-have-it purchase and I knew the taste couldn’t measure up to how great it smelled. Plus this goes against my no yogurt or chocolate in my tea rule. BUT I think this turned out okay! The oolong is stronger than I thought and at first my mouth rejected the unexpectedness of it, but as the cup is chugging along I’m liking the combination. I’m not sure if I’d buy it again because the chocolate thing still weirds me out slightly, but I will look into DT’s other coconut teas because that’s the main thing and it’s yum.

I went in for the tea press/free tin deal at my local store last night and they had barely any tins to choose from, so I ended up with this one. The ingredients seemed nice? A creamy spicy chai? Nope. I’d recommend this to someone who doesn’t really like chai, since it’s a bit nondescript. It’s okay. I’m a chai fan so it’s so…..unspectacular. I should have just grabbed a second tin of Just Peachy. Sigh.
