A premium oolong that I splurged on and promptly shared with a friend. It has a warm, golden color and smooth, slightly sweet, taste.

Just picked some of this up last weekend, and it’s just what I needed. The perfect way to relax and just be. The taste is light and fresh, a little sweet. One of the best teas out there.

I had my last cup of TieGuanYin GungFu in Yixing Gaiwan, the spring pick in China is called MeiLi and to make a long story short the taste is condenses on the tounge right about the second steep very good when the soothing nectar is only steeped for a minute. In the third steep I dissatisfied that there is not more flavor but what is left is so snug that ease flows into a cup of it and suddenly my life…:)

This is a really soothing, nicely fragrant tea. It comes in tea bags, which I rarely use, but they don’t seem to detract at all from this tea. The mint is strong, but balanced with the sage. Naturally caffeine-free, it’s the perfect tea for evening relaxation.

The previous taster helped me with this review. Depth: that is the key word with this tea. It’s more floral than vegetal, but not flowery. It has a warmth and a depth, though, that are really satisfying. Smooth on the tongue, a subtle smell. This is definitely a winner for me :)

I haven’t posted any teas in a while, because I’ve been getting into the smaller boutique products. This comes from Silk Road Teas, and it’s a new product for them.

The tea comes in a small cake, suitable for brewing in a larger teapot rather than just one cup. I used my medium-sized teapot, and the cake was a bit too much for the steeping basket. Still, it worked.

The tea: a lightly scented (honey-like, as the description indicates), pale yellow tea. The flavor is subtly sweet, not grassy at all, but smooth. I detect a bit of flowery taste, but nothing too strong.

I made the mistake of ordering just one cake (forgot to update after increasing the number!), but will be ordering this again soon. It is a lovely tea, and perfect for a quiet morning when you can sit down and really sip slowly and thoughtfully. It does require quiet and attention, as the flavor is so subtle. This is not for drinking on the go.

Drinking the Almond Green this morning. I love this tea, though it needs a short steep to prevent bitterness. It’s very soothing, slightly sweetened by the almond, and a real treat on a lazy morning with the windows open for fresh, cool air.

Just picked this up today at a little shop styling itself as a European market. The scent of this tea is definitely sweet marzipan, but the tea is not sweet. It has a hint of almond, with a basic green tea background. Very nice!

Tasting for the first time…

Just picked this up yesterday at Ku Cha House of Tea in Boulder, CO.

By the description, I expected a heavier tea. This is actually quite light, very smooth. I did steep for 2 minutes only – my preferred time for most teas, even black teas. It has a slightly vegetal smell. I don’t taste the chocolate of the description. I taste…a hint of red wine. It’s not at all grassy, but yes a bit malty.

I like :)

My second steep: this time 3 minutes… Still very smooth, no bitterness at all. Still getting a hint of red wine. Am I crazy – have inadequate taste buds?!?!? I don’t care. This is tasty. The color is a rich brown, though not as dark as a black tea (at least in my green/brown glazed ceramic cup).

Gotta recommend this one for anyone who enjoys an oolong :)

Ending my Monday with a few cups of Hairy Crab Oolong…heeheehee…I suppose the name turns some people off, but it makes me giggle :) The tea: a finely crafted product with a delicate flavor. Yum!
