56 Tasting Notes
Very tasty! I don’t get the astringency I’ve had with other green teas. The dry leaf smells like straight up almond extract but the taste isn’t strong at all. More of a green tea scented with almond which I really like. I used 1 level PS and got two decent steeps, although the second steep didn’t have any almond taste or scent to it. One PS barely made a dent in my little 10g tin so I didn’t buy any more with my most recent order.
Tried this one hot and found it way to tart. So I tried making iced tea instead… aaand failed lol. I didn’t make it strong enough so the ice watered it down far too much. Still tasted alright though, thus I tried again and let the tea cool down to almost room temperature then put it in the freezer to chill for a while. Except I forgot about it until after work and had to wait for it to melt lol. But again, it was too watery. I have about 20g left so I might try cold brewing. From what I could taste though it was very strawberry-y and quite refreshing. The dry leaf smells really good so I have high hopes for a better batch!
Yum! Banana isn’t a flavour I lean toward but I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. Banana, buttery, sweet. Good with milk. It makes an awful mess in an infuser so go for something disposable if possible. It’s not a very cost effective tea since it’s so chunky/heavy. You need at least 2 PS for 20oz and it’s only good for one steep. It’s a nice treat though so I can see myself getting more.
Just a nice black tea. I over-steeped it the first time so it was too bitter to get any of the fruit flavours. Oops! But the second time I got it just right and enjoyed it a lot. I like black tea with milk and it helped with getting the cake-like flavours to come out.
I finally gained the courage to try this one. I don’t like plain, roasted peanuts (unless in a sundae drenched in fudge sauce) and that is unfortunately what this tea smells like. The smell of the dry leaf puts me off enough but add hot water – HOT peanuts. Pls send help.
So after weeks of dreading this tea… it actually tastes okay. I purposely made it weak (1.25 PS for a 20oz mug) so I’m getting very mild but good flavours. Nutty (more almond than peanut thank GOD), toasty, coconutty, woody, slightly sweet. There’s a lot of apple pieces in the infuser however I’m not getting fruity. I saw many people mention a metallic taste but I’m getting none whatsoever. I dare say I enjoy it… Which is a good thing because I just found ANOTHER 50g bag from a different multi-pack so that makes 100g of this stuff to get through. Maybe I’ll try adding some to oatmeal?
I liked it! The gold glitter looks very pretty in the cup. Tastes like a pretty standard orange pekoe with a bit of spicyness to it. I didn’t try it plain first, which is unusual of me, so I suspect I missed out on a lot of flavours because of the milk. I’ll have to try it again and decide whether it’s worth paying big bucks for or if a box of Tetley would be sufficient.
