Additional notes.
After my sample, last year, I had picked up 10 more little disks of this shortly after. I hadn’t got around to drinking more until yesterday. I am still working on sipdowns of the tea that I got too much of. >.<

This time instead of gongfu, I went for 10 ounces for 30 secs, 1m, 2m It has still had a thick taste, very fruity with berries, stone fruits, citrus, very malty flavor. Not so floral this time, and crisp citrus aftertaste. Notes of honey, a heavier molasses, and light spice notes. It was a pleasant afternoon tea. It is heavy on the energy (caffeine) but I love that. I got so much more work accomplished lol. So beware. I had energy all the way until 4 am. I don’t get jittery or anything with it, it just good energy to me.

I now know 10 people with COVID19. The latest is a beautiful family, Aaron’s cousin, who got is from her husband who had to work, they didn’t practice safe distancing at the work place, and now they have it and all their four little kids. Tragic times. So stay safe out there.

Flavors: Berries, Citrusy, Fruity, Honey, Malt, Molasses, Spices, Stonefruit

My sister in law has contracted it too. It is a bad virus we have here.

mrmopar, I hope your sister-in-law gets better fast. Aaron’s mom got it almost 8 weeks ago, and she is still on oxygen. It’s really sad. She got it from his husband who was traveling back from work on an airplane. They both have been struggling since.

This fricken virus. I’m so sorry mrmopar and Kawaii433.

tea-sipper, thank you.<3

My cousin and his wife supposedly both have it. My aunt has also been in isolation due to an outbreak at her workplace. She seems fine though. It’s been weeks since she was potentially exposed to the virus, and thankfully, she has had no symptoms and no one who lives with her has gotten sick.

Oh, thank goodness she has the mild version, eastkyteaguy <3

Profile

Bio

Longtime casual tea drinker. In the past, mainly Matcha, Gyokuro, Sencha, Genmaicha… Etc. I like all teas: Green, oolong, black & pu’erh (prefer ripe over raw).

Chanoyu (for matcha prep) and Gongfu cha (for other types of tea) are the main ways I prepare my tea (Gaiwan, Yixing teapot, Kyusu). I drink all tea… Usually unflavored. This past year, I’ve tried many flavored now because of all of you lol. As long as there aren’t artificial sweeteners, it’s all good.

Favorite stores: TeaVivre, What-Cha, Mandala Tea, 52Teas, Whispering Pines, Bird & Blend, Yunnan sourcing, White2Tea, Lupicia.

The flavors I dislike: Artificial sweetener, lavender, violet, any strong floral-perfumey tea; cantaloupe, papaya, honeydew, rose, licorice, anise, jasmine, any mints, leather.

Favorite flavors: Citrus fruits (especially grapefruit & tangerines), granny smith apple, bananas, guava, mango, tamarind, watermelon, stonefruits, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, milk, cinnamon, creme, bread/pastry, nuts, toasted, roasted.

I generally don’t add anything to my teas unless they are flavored, then I may add a splash of milk.

As I explore, my ratings may shift. 90+ generally means I’ll keep it on my shelf.
