892 Tasting Notes
The tea is very moody. It doesn’t like to be made like traditional black tea.. The first time I made it I used boiling water at 3 minutes. It was so… BITTER! But I guess that’s what I get with grapefruit and orange peels… SO we tried it today at 195 for 1 minute and 15 seconds. It turned out delicious! The ginger is the more dominate flavor followed by some citrusy notes. Mostly grapefruit. It’s different but it’s ok. Honestly.. I like it. I will probably play around with it a little more on water temperature and steeping time. See what I can come up with!
Preparation
Well I tried to drink this yesterday.. but I was forced out the door too quickly when my boyfriend wanted to go swimming. So I threw it in my bottle and.. that was it.. BUT today I had nothing to take my morning away.. so I made the last little bit I had and it was delicious. I love oolongs so this was perfect. A very mineraly flavor. But it’s still smooth. You get a sweet aftertaste. This is now one of my favorite oolongs :]
Preparation
When I opened the pouch to this I was expecting a floral smell.. not even close. I smelled something fruity… something familiar.. I had to look up the ingredients and found there was coconut in it! I had a hugh “AH HAH!” moment. The taste is sweet. I can pull out hints of coconut, some floral notes, and some sweet oolong. A very tasty tea!
Preparation
This is one of my favorite teas from The Tea Grotto. You would think that there were a lot of fake ish tasting flavors in this tea, but surprisingly there isn’t! It has a very, very light strawberry cream flavor with a slight bitter aftertaste. The cool thing about this tea is you can still get hints of the green tea. I imagine it would be pretty tasty with some milk and sugar :]
Preparation
I was expecting a lot of fake flavors with this tea. But it actually tastes like real raspberries. It has a ruby red liquor and a very sweet-tart smell. The taste is very juicy with a slight tart aftertaste. Excellent iced or hot! Honestly, this is one of the best Teavana teas I’ve ever had.
Preparation
I woke up slightly grumpy this morning. I went to the kitchen to start the kettle and saw a tin of this staring at me, begging to be made. I grumpily gave in. Once my water was at the correct temperature I opened the tin to find beautiful little rose buds. My mood lightened at the sight of them. But no. I was determined to be grumpy. After about 2 minutes I poured it into my delicate tea pot and then into my little blue cup. The aroma was wonderful and would not give up until I cracked a smile.. the taste.. so light.. so soft.. so florally.. hints of jasmine and rose.. a sweet flavor from the white tea.. this tea was so.. delicious.. I gave in.. this tea instantly made me give up my grumpy mood and let me have a peace of mind feeling. Well.. that and Enchanted by Taylor Swift :] I feel like her music and white teas go together quite well!
TL;DR: This tea is amazing. And so is Taylor Swift.. :D
Preparation
I got this as a sample with my package. The smell was wonderful! The first sip I thought “Oh.. It just tastes like another black tea.. I can’t really find the vanilla..” right after that thought..BAM… the vanilla hit my tongue! Very smooth and creamy with a slight bitter finish :] For me this would make an excellent morning tea!
