264 Tasting Notes
After a hectic Christmas celebration, I thought this would be a “good morning” tea. A friend had dropped off a tea gift bag in the middle of the night including this one. She loves this brand of tea and introduced them to me.
The tea bag is huge and I’ll remember that for my next cup and brew a pot instead. Enjoyed while watching children decide which Xmas gift to break open for the day.
A good, smooth, and strong black tea. Might be a new favorite black tea for me.
Preparation
I picked this up to create Tea Trees for holiday gifties and had a handful left over. Definitely have enjoyed this tea in the last week in the morning. Stash is often in our grocery store, so I’m going to keep this in mind for next year’s holiday season

Does it remind me of Carrot Cake? No, not even when I try to activate my imagination. Maybe a hint of cream cheese frosting. There is a sense of spices- like cinnamon. It’s a light tea with some sweetness. I may try for a second steeping to see how that goes.

Almost caught up, but at least I just finished my mug of this. At first I was put off by the spearmint smell of the leaves. But I did find the tea to be well balanced mint with lemongrass and lemon verbena. I think it would be a good iced tea as well.

I’m about 5 days behind due to an insane work schedule and over commitments. So my memory is foggy and the next few Tealogs are going to be Memorable Good and Not So Memorable.
My sense of taste was complete back by this point and everyone is well again in our home. I liked this one. Chocolate teas are generally not my thing but I enjoyed the Cherry and Chocolate Combination.
Flavors: Cherry, Dark Chocolate

Shaking off this cold and the taste buds seem to be back in play. There is a strong berry flavor to this one, which should have been obvious to me based on the ingredient listing. I don’t dislike it but for me most berry teas are better iced. I’ve noticed that berry teas seem to leave me with a dry feeling in my mouth. Is that normal?
Flavors: Cranberry, Hibiscus, Raspberry

When I did my leaf sniff test I was concerned about the excessively sweet raspberry scent I detected. But after steeping, I only detected the almond flavoring. Pretty sure my head cold is messing with me still. But I think this is one I would do again.
Flavors: Almond
I remember liking this one. We don’t have many Steven Smith retail options around here, so I haven’t seen it on shelves in ages.
I’m a fan of SST. This one is one of my favorite “breakfast” style teas. I also love their Earl Grey, which has currant notes to me.
The same friend gifted me some Earl Grey! Can’t wait to try it tomorrow!
