Thanks, greenteafairy, for this tea!
We were all joking at the last tea meet-up that this smelled like olives and since nobody else wanted this tea I decided to take it, be brave and make my olive-loving Greek ancestors proud.
And guess what? There is an olive-like flavor too this tea. This rooibos is particularly fruity and the cinnamon and cloves help to bring out those notes even more. It’s almost as if I were eating an olive while chewing on some big red gum. Strangely enough I kind of liked it. It just worked for me. I could see how someone with different tastes and especially people who don’t like rooibos could hate it.

I’m glad you likes this one… or found it vaguely palatable, anyway. Also happy to know I’m not crazy with the olive thing!
haha! Yeah. It really has that kalamata, green olive vibe. Are you still coming to the Bellocq meet-up this weekend?
Funny, I got more of a canned black olive flavor – would’ve preferred kalamata, if I have to have olive in my tea at all ; ) And yep, still coming – I was a little bit on the fence with all of the weekend subway reroutings involved, but I think it’ll be worth it.
