Enjoying my little slice of San Diego here (see previous tasting note). There is something about this tea that reminds me of my childhood growing up in San Diego. Ahh… stress? I have none when drinking this tropical wonder…

TeaEqualsBliss

This sounds neat! I would love to try more of her teas someday soon!

2nd infusion – just as flavorful as the first. LOVE this tea! :)

A truly magical tea. I love how tropical this smells – both in the bag and as it’s brewing. It’s so fragrant and wonderful…

Oh, and the taste. Delish! Another great thing about Joy’s Teaspoon is that the teas are resteepable (is that even a word?).

This does remind me of home, as I’ve mentioned before: San Diego.

I need a little vacation in my mind this morning…

And delicious with the Valentine’s Day cupcake I am consuming… I love cake. Can’t resist it.

Oooh, cool. I’m the first to review this awesome tea, courtesy of Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon. (Thank you!) I am a new fan to Joy’s Teaspoon, although I wonder how I survived without some of these teas, specifically this one!
South Sea Magic has the perfect blend of subtle tart and smoothness to create a tropical escape. I enjoyed this tea, which brews up slightly pink (awesome) at the end of a long day. It is also tropically aromatic; so pleasing.
As a personal note, this tea reminds me of San Diego, my hometown, which I miss dearly, especially in the wintertime. So I am renaming this, in my mind, as “Slice of San Diego.” :)

JoysTeaspoon

ooooohhh…I love the idea of naming this slice of San Diego. Hmmmm…now my wheels are turning….

Made this for the second time and this amazing tea lasted strong through THREE steepings! Not all teas can even make it through a second steeping. (OK, and yes some nasty teas barely survive one steeping…)

I am in love with Joy’s Teaspoon. I will be back again and again and again…

Uniquity

Agreed on so many counts…what size mug were you using to get three steeps? I’ve been wondering lately if I get less steeps because I use a pretty large mug most of the time. Though when it comes to Joy’s Teaspoon, I always get at least 2 steeps, and sometimes 4! (2 cups 2 times)

KeenTeaThyme

That’s funny – I always think I get less steepings because I want a strong, bold tea. :) I use a Fiestaware mug most of the time. I moved recently and can’t find my Big Ol’ Mug I used to use. Boo.

Thanks to the awesome Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon for this sample. I am in love with Joy’s Teaspoon!
The teas at Joy’s Teaspoon have a knack for being aromatic and tasteful – a tough job. But someone’s gotta do it, and Joy’s Teaspoon does!
I am a nut for anything almond so this almond tea, naturally, will be a cupboard staple. I taste the black forest notes, but it’s not black forest overkill. The almond comes through naturally and the aftertaste resembles toasted almonds. This truly is enchanting – a very appropriate name for an utterly blissful tea!
P.S. I accidentally over-steeped this one the second time around, but the tea handled itself well. The almond taste was even stronger so I was OK with my tea taboo.

Drinking this one again… love it. Second infusion is just as nice as the first. Plus you don’t need to use more than a teaspoon of tea, unlike other brands in which you have to load up the filter in order to really taste the tea.

Thanks to the lovely Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon for my free sample. I never thought I would find a tea that could claim a 100 rating spot next to my beloved Awakening and Shanghai Orchid, but Riesling stole my heart from the very first sip!
First off the aroma is so pleasant and calming – just like a glass of chilled wine. I’m more of a beer girl myself, but Riesling is a wine I enjoy. And this tea matches the taste of Riesling to a TEA! (couldn’t resist the pun)
The flavor profile is fruity, flirty and utterly smooth. I imagine this would taste delish chilled too, but I never even got to enjoy it warm, let alone cool. I gulped this hot and went back for more. The second steeping was just as delicious.
I love the aftertaste too – the light sugary grape flavor stays with you.
This is a new cupboard essential. I have a friend who loves wine and is skeptical about tea; I’m getting her this so she can enjoy the best of both worlds.
This is a new favorite, a Friday tea. Absolutely divine and utterly luxe! I’m in LOVE!

I like this, it’s a light tasting black tea. Easy to sip, nothing too outstanding about the flavor, just nice to drink.

Wow…now this one is good. It does have a black forest type feel to it and the almond flavor is just amazing. Thank you “Joy’s Teaspoon” for sending me this sample. I will have to get more when I run out. Love…love…love it. :-)

Yay! This is my real 300th review. I had to delete one that showed up as a duplicate. So happy!

This is another sample that I received from the very nice people at Joy’s Teaspoon. I chose this one because I absolutely love wine and riesling is a favorite of my husband and I. I was skeptical that this would work out as riesling is a fairly light flavored wine and white tea is obviously a light flavor also…but I was very hopeful that this would be great.

I wasn’t disappointed. The tea is smooth, lightly sweet grape with a floral aftertaste. There was even a hint of the “bite” of wine, but don’t get me wrong, this tea is anything but astringent. I added a very scant pinch of sugar to bring out the natural sweetness, but honestly the tea would have been just fine without it.

It is rare to find a white tea that tastes like I want it to, but this one delivers. If you enjoy wine, even a little bit, you should definitely check out this tea.

drank Cinnamon Roll by Joy's Teaspoon

Thank you Linda @ Joy’s Teaspoon for sending me this sample. I’ve been looking for a cinnamon tea that tastes more mellow and not so syrupy for those times I have cinnamon cravings that are more bakey cinnamon than Hot Cinnamon Spice cravings.

This tea has a great ground cinnamon flavor, with a bit of baked pastry flavor as well. I’m really enjoying the baked taste to this tea. It holds up well to cream and sugar, but doesn’t need it to be a dessert in a cup. This was a delicious choice for this morning. A nice sweet treat to enjoy while I’m stuck in my house. Lots of snow blowing around out there.

This is one of the samples that I received from Joy’s Teaspoon earlier this week. I appreciate that this is a very natural tasting cinnamon tea that isn’t trying too hard to cover up the tea base. I also think that the black tea base is of a good quality. It is quite bakey and smooth through the sip. This does taste like a cinnamon roll without the icing. Pretty good!

drank Earl Grey by Joy's Teaspoon

Really enjoying this today – Of course, I generally “really enjoy” Earl Grey teas on any day so long as they’re good ones. And this one is really good. Right up there with some of my favorite Earl Grey teas.

The bergamot is really nice in this – it isn’t too overwhelming so it offers a pleasant touch of citrus tang and sweetness. The black tea is brisk but not too stout.

An excellent Earl Grey.

I almost regret giving the rest of my sample of this to my mother. MAN it was good.

Yay! I love Earl Grey! I was so excited to open the enormous box sent to me from TeaEqualsBliss and to find this Earl Grey amongst its contents. This is a delightful Earl Grey, very flavorful, brisk, with a nice tangy bergamot flavor that lingers nicely in the aftertaste.

Delicious! It’s the first tea that I’ve tried from Joy’s Teaspoon, and I’m very happy with this one – an AWESOME Earl Grey! I hope that the rest of my Joy’s Teaspoon experiences are as wonderful as this one.

Geoffrey Norman

Theres is the best Earl Grey I’ve ever tried.

drank Mahalo by Joy's Teaspoon

One of these days, I’ll have a Joy’s tea that I just won’t like. Today isn’t that day. I actually didn’t know what “mahalo” meant until I did some digging prior to reviewing this. It’s Hawaiian for gratitude…and grateful I am that this tasted like it was supposed to – like tropical fruit. There aren’t any subtleties to speak of with this blend. It is what it is, a tropical and annoyingly chipper blend. It’s a morning green tea.

This is a very pleasant oolong. It is very smooth, slightly floral, and very woodsy. When I smell it, I feel like I’m sitting in a cozy log cabin, drinking my oolong tea! It is also slightly sweet, and light. I don’t get any spicy notes, I’m wondering if my water temp was not hot enough. i used the hot water from the office machine since I’m at work. I will need to try this again at home, when I can get the water a bit hotter. I’m curious to see how the taste will change! This is a nice tasty basic oolong.

drank Sencha by Joy's Teaspoon

2 tsps in 6 Oz water at 190F for two minutes and thirty seconds.

Wow, this is a fruity steep! It tastes like plum gum!Not much caramel like this but there is some of the grassiness I wanted. Very unique! There’s another purple fruity taste that I can’t name…not blueberry…oh! Acai berry?! Yeah! I’m definately uping my rating for this.

Second steeping: A little weaker but the same over all.

Third steeping: The caramel came back. Caramelized plum gum. Hmm. Gourmet fruit gums? I’d buy that. I wish this flavor was a little stronger. Very nice and hydrating.
This is a high quality sencha but not for me. Fascinating and enjoyable but not for me; I like grassy, vegetal sencha. Highly recomended for the oolong drinker or anyone who wants to taste plum gum. Big thanks to Joy’s Teaspoon for the sample!

Ah, there’s a little sencha grassiness. Still very light and woody. More like second steeping kukicha. This is the sencha that doesn’t want to be one!

Dry leaf: It smells quite sweet and light. it gives me the image of a pile of freshly cut clover hay fluffed together with straw. A little whiff of something fruity? Peach? Mm! I just want to drive right in!

First steep: 5 Oz. Trader Joe’s Artisian water at 180 F for two and a half minutes
Smells sweet and a very much like the leaf! It takes like it too, sweet and light, just as anticiapted. Very woody wth some caramel notes as it cools. No grassiness at all but it was such a low temperature. it reminds me very much of a Chinese oolong like this. Probably the peach notes. Ye-ap. Smells peachy tastes peachy too!
It’s surprisingly astringant for such a light steep! I’m not even done and I feel alert and thirsty!

Ooh, I’ve got to try this at a higher temperature!

Big mug of this to get to work today. I found that it had a very creamy sort of taste while hot, which thinned out a bit as it cooled. Almost like a dash of lime bang was thrown in my cup of Wellness. As much as I am enjoying this, I am so excited about other teas right now because…
