drank Orange by Pickwick

I used to enjoy this tea every Sunday when I lived in Amsterdam – it brightened even the gloomiest of days. The orange flavors are strong and they don’t taste fake or artificial. Yummy.

You have to really love hibiscus to enjoy this tea – the name does not lie, it is certainly big. 1 sachet can make a whole pot of tea in fact. I love hibiscus and Steven Smith brings out the flower’s tart cranberry flavors.

Flavors: Hibiscus, Rosehips

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 5 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

drank Earl Grey by Stash Tea
7 tasting notes

Similar to previous reviewers, I would call this tea “not terrible.” Stash has a great reputation, and this earl grey – a standard earl grey – does not disappoint, but it is lacking a bit in flavor and robustness. Having said that, with a splash of honey and left to steep an extra couple of minutes, it’s nice after dinner.

Flavors: Bergamot, Vanilla

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more 4 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

I feel terrible for not recommending this tea – I really, really wanted to like it! The yerba mate flavors are great, it smells wonderful with a hint of almond and vanilla. But, the final taste to me just feels off – for me, it kind of tastes like milk that’s gone off. It’s not good. A shame, it has such potential.

1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

drank Constant Comment by Bigelow

While I generally prefer loose leaf, there’s something comforting about Constant Comment. I have heard the founder of Bigelow speak and appreciate the stories about how this company was founded. This is great as a latte – though I use two tea bags for stronger flavor.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Orange, Smooth

Preparation
Boiling 7 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

This is by far my most favorite way to consume Yerba Mate. This is quite a spicy chai – one of the spicest, in fact, so if you do not like spicy, I don’t recommend this tea. The yerba mate flavors are fresh and well-accented by the array of spices. This makes a phenomenal latte – in fact, that is my preferred method of consumption.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Dark Bittersweet, Spices

200 °F / 93 °C 6 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
