New tea! My enjoyment of earl greys comes and god, but I’ve been going through an enjoyment phase recently. However, as soon as I smelled this I knew I wouldn’t like it…and I was right. It tastes pretty close to my memory of Cream of Earl Grey, which I really don’t like. This has a similar ‘not really vanilla, but a weird buttery synthetic cream’ flavoring that I don’t care for. Glad I didn’t buy 2oz.

Have you tried cream of earl grey? Does it live up to the hype? I’m curious! I might get it during black Friday

I don’t care for Cream of Earl Grey at all, it has a similar flavor to this imo.

Mastress Alita

I’m pretty positive this tea is Cream of Earl Grey, just with some red peppercorn and white needle leaves added to make it “look wintery”.

Mastress Alita they’re definitely very similar, but not the same thing – though you’re right that the silver needle/peppercorn are meant as visual accents. The black tea base is different though, and Winter Earl Grey using bergamot oil versus the bergamot flavouring used in Cream of Earl Grey. The vanilla flavouring, however, is the same. It’s sort of like Forever Frosty last year; definitely some major overlap with Forever Nuts and meant to be reminiscent of Forever Nuts, but some key differences too.

(Also – sorry if that comes off as snobby/“well actually” style mansplain-y at all! That’s definitely not my intention! I just happen to have the inside scoop, is all.)
