694 Tasting Notes
I received a sample of this from TeaPet in the box of David’s teas that I got. Thank you!
I am having a no flavored tea kinda day so I was digging through my samples and found this bad boy. I tried 3 of Yezi’s black teas with their sample promotion and this is now my 4th. I really liked the 3 that I tried and have them on my list to buy from in the future. I am adding this to my list of likes. I have never had a smokey tea before but I believe that is how I would describe this tea. The front part of the sip has a bit of smoke with a spice to it and then at the end I get a malty/coco taste. The black teas that I have had from China I would describe as sweet potato. This I would describe as semi sweet smokey chocolate. This is different from anything that I have had and I am liking it. Thanks again TeaPet for sharing some of this with me.
I received a sample of this from Allie in a mystery swap. Thank you for sharing.
This is a really tasty chai! I am quite found of chais so I was excited when I saw this in the bunch of teas. I usually never drink chai straight, I always add about 1/2 tsp sugar and an ounce of milk. I did the same for this chai. This was a thick mouthful. It was a malty black tea base with a hint of chocolate and some spice in the background. It wasn’t a strong spice. The mix of malty/chocolate with spice for me is pretty well balanced. I am glad I got to try this one!
This came to me via a “Mystery Swap” with Eva. Thank you for letting me try this one.
I keep reading wonderful things about this tea and it did not disappoint. I am getting a deep burnt sugar caramel flavor. I am not getting pineapple per say, but the tea is very sweet so I assume the pineapple is making itself known in that fashion. Despite this tea being really sweet already I may add some sugar to my next cup to really help curb this sweet tooth tonight. This was really yummy. If I ever put in an order to Della Terra I suspect this will be in my cart.
I received a sample of this from MirandaGou in our most recent swap! Thank you for letting me try this one.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am just starting to try green teas. I could taste the vegital of the green base, as well as a toasty and caramely taste. This was such a great cup for my afternoon tea. Almost makes me wish I would have tried this before my order to H&S on Friday.

So since I don’t know the history of this tea, when it was bought, how it was stored, I am going to chock my review and my tastings up to packaging. The first sip to me tasted like this tea picked up the flavor of the inside of a plastic bag it was shipped in. I get no hints of almond or even a black tea taste. I liked the name of this tea and, based on the name I was hoping for an “almond joy” tea.
Hmm… I think it is the bag. It was purchased in November and stored in the air sealed bag it was purchased in. It should taste similar to an almond cookie. :-/
I received this from TeaPet in the box of David’s Tea that I bought.
There was about one cups worth of this left so thought I would polish this off. The reviews of this are not great and I can see if you had expectations based on the name this tea wouldn’t really live up to the expectations, but I found this to be pretty tasty. I tasted a dark oolong with hints of cinnamon.
In the past few weeks this is the tea I keep visiting over and over. Whenever I am having a bad day, had a not so good tea and need to counter act the not so goodness with greatness, or I am just plain cold to the bone and need to warm up, I have been drinking this. I think the best way to describe this tea is cinnamon bread. Its so warming and rich. I love this tea.
I received a sample of this tea from Eva in a “Mystery Swap”. Thank you!
I have been sampling EGC’s lately, I have had a few leading up to this one. This was meh for me. It was a pretty weak base with a really low level of bergamot. I was busy cooking so the cup cooled and I took a sip of it cold. Despite it not being my favorite hot, the cold version was pretty tasty. The creaminess shone through and covered up the weakness of the base.
I received a sample of this from Allie in a “Mystery Swap”. Thank you!
I had just discovered Arbor Teas. I was searching for Thai Iced tea and they seem to have a pretty good one. Anyway, onto THIS tea. This was so nice! I definitely get the mango and the sweetness of the pineapple. This was a real treat hot. I need to make a cup cold and add a little bit of sugar.
Oof. I’ve only had Thai iced tea once and I just can’t do it. The version I had was too much like coffee.
Nicole do you ever go to Lulu’s? (Thai Noodle Shop) This is the thai iced tea I have had. It is pretty good as long as I don’t think about the amount of sweet and condensed milk that is in it:)
This came to be via a “Mystery Swap” with Allie. Thank you!
I am not sure what to think about this one. The mix of berries is a bit overwhelming and very tart hot. I think this would be better as an ice tea as it is mellowing out as it cools. I will brew some up tonight to try with lunch tomorrow iced.
I checked out Yezi Tea and wow, it looks like a really good company! I have read quite a few Steepster reviews on their teas and it looks like their products are nothing short of amazing. Also, love the fact that they give 3 free samples! I placed my first order today and can’t wait to try their organic teas. I am excited to explore the world of oolongs and greens more, so this order should help me do that!
