694 Tasting Notes
I really like a few of the EGC’s I have tried so when I saw this up for swap I grabbed it out of curiosity. Thank-you AnnaEA for satisfying my curiosity. This one unfortunately is not for me. I get a hint of cream, and the peppery aftertaste of the bergamont, but none of the citrus. The base is weak or comes through with a watery finish.
Preparation
I received a very generous sample of this from bluebelle in our February swap. Thank you!
This is a nice Ceylon. The cup smelled fruity with a sugary smell. This was very nice and smooth. I might try my next cup with a touch of milk and honey. I really enjoy Ceylon’s in the afternoon and this was a nice cup. Thank you for sharing!
Preparation
I ordered a sample pack of this with my recent Zen Tea order. I am writing this note from memory. I will have to add some notes when I am sipping and writing next time. This has a nice black base, nothing that overpowers the tea, strong hints of strawberry and a slight touch of cream. I had read some notes that compared this to 52 Teas Strawberry Zabaglione which made me a little scared. This to me was a lot more strawberry with a better balance with the black base. I think this tea will be wonderful iced. I really enjoyed this one.
Preparation
This is from the February 2014 Steepster box.
This is a nice dark cup of black tea. The first cup was astringent, but a good kind of astringent. It seems very breakfast tea like. I am not sure what to say about this one, but it is a nice cup of strong black tea.
Preparation
I purchased a sample pouch of this in my recent Zen Tea order. I was in a rooibos mood when I placed the order and it shows. Somehow I purchased 2 sample packs of this one unintentionally though. It wasn’t my favorite. It was a nice rooibos base with medicinal ginger taste. Oh well. You win some you loose some.
Preparation
I received this sample from bluebelle in our February swap. Thank you for sharing!
I was nervous about this tea because I could not find an English description of the tea. I still am not sure what I am sipping, but man it is good. Why oh why must my mouth like teas that are impossible to get a hold of? As I am typing the light bulb is going off that maybe I should put the description into google translate. Anyway, this is another tea that I have a small sample of that I will savor and pray that I get to taste again someday. As for the taste, I am getting a black tea with hints of possibly oolong with a fruity finish.
Preparation
I ordered a sample size of this in my recent Zen Tea order. I manged to pick up the germs my daughter brought home from the daycare last week. It seems these days whatever germs come my way it knocks me out for a few days. When I am sick I do not like to drink tea. This seams odd, I know, but usually when I am sick water or fizzy water are the only things that seem appropriate to drink. Anyway, I eased back into drinking tea with this one. It was a nice treat. It was like drinking a raspberry hot chocolate, only with the nice rooibos base. I like it! Somewhat sad I only have a small pouch of it, but I guess that means if I run out fast I can order more right?
Preparation
I received a sample of this from Allie in our mystery swap. Thank you for sharing!
This was a sweet apple tea. I have had quite a few apple flavored teas recently, but most have been spiced with stronger cinnamon. This was mostly apple with a hint of spice. It looks like this is a green tea base, but I didn’t get much of the tea base out of it. This was a nice cup. Thank you!
Preparation
This is my last sample from Eva. I was saving this one for last because I knew I would love it!!. Thank you for sharing this one with me.
This is lemony and creamy and oh so good. What a great late night treat. It looks like they ran out of this at Della Terra for awhile. It is probably a good thing because I would have spent money I shouldn’t have to get some of this and the winter nog.
Preparation
I’m in the same boat…it’s so delicious that I’m toying with the idea of purchasing more even though I don’t need any new tea at the moment. The 30% off deal is like a siren calling to me though…I have feeling that this ship may just crash. ;P
I picked up an ounce of this when my sister took me to the Verdant Tasting room. It wasn’t one I was expecting to buy, but man I am glad I did. For me it is a tea that came with no expectations which I am finding can be a very good thing. This is such a comforting and warming tea. I get this feeling that I am eating a nice dessert next to the fire. I can’t even describe the flavors of this one. Bread/cake are some of the words that come to mind with a hint of vanilla and citrus. I like! I hope this one stays around. Looking at some of the tasting notes I am going to have to try steeping this for longer next time.
