I received a sample of this from Angel and the folks at TeaVivre. Thank you!

This is a light tea with hints of peach and just the slightest notion of jasmine. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this cup. This was very nice and refreshing. I am excited to drink this both warm and cold this summer. Another tea that I think will be great for the upcoming warm days!

EDIT: This cooled quite a bit while I got distracted doing chores. This is amazing cold. The flavors for me came out a bit more. I will be making the rest of this sample iced for sure. I have so much tea, but I have been visiting the Teavivre site daily contemplating an order:) I am sure it won’t be long before I cave.

I need to get to the pool tonight since the weather didn’t pan out for a bike ride, but I am dragging my feet and getting stuff done at the computer. This seems like the perfect companion in my procrastination.

I am unsure what to make of green tea. I have had some cups that I love and others that I dump out as soon as I take the first sip. Half of the cups I have never even written tasting notes about because I never even make it that far. I played it safe with this one. I made the water to the low end of the suggested temperature and steeped on the low end of time. This is wonderful! I can see a nice summer tea in my future. This is a light, slightly sweet vegetal tea. I am so impressed! There is a buttery feel on the tongue that is very nice. There is also absolutely no bitterness! Yes, finally a green tea that I love!

Enjoying the last teaspoon of my first tin of this. Yummy. A less than exciting day at work, this is the pick me up I needed. Warm, malty and delicious. I was able to track down 2 more tins from the Quay, after running into empty shelves at Cosentinos.

You can get it at Green Acres Market in Briarcliff as well. And I think Amanda told me you can get it at a Hen House in Lenexa, maybe?

HUGO TEA COMPANY

@TeaTiff, we have a new map on our Company page on HugoTea.com. You can see everywhere that sells Hugo Tea. :-)

On another note, don’t be afraid to tell retailers when they are out of product. It’s quite common that products get lost in the shuffle. Technically it’s the retailer’s responsibility to order and stock products. We’ve had a lot of trouble with the Cosentinos Downtown.

Thanks so very much for the support.

Cheers,

Tonight was magical. A warm sunny spring day with no wind. A mid-western cyclist dream. A “hilly” ride, with the smell of freshly cut grass and lots of flowering trees. Wind and sunshine on my face! Yep, I was already in heaven and then I had some of this tea. Now, I am sitting here with everyone in bed enjoying a quite house and a warm cup of tea. Can I hit repeat on this day?

This tea is smooth and hearty. I get sweet potato with a bit of what I like to say is a “meaty” finish. There is no astringency. The last part of the sip also has a hint of sweet. This is delicious. I received this tea from ashleyelizabeth in a swap. I was intrigued to try this because I started my loose leaf tea habit with the Teavana’s version of Golden Monkey. I will have to try them side by side. I am curious to see how my perception of that tea has changed. Thank you ashleyelizabeth for passing this along!

Although I haven’t gotten any teas from Teavana in a while, I remember at one time buying their Golden Monkey, and it was very good! From what you described, this Teavivre Golden Monkey sounds like it tastes just as good or better. Yes, you should definitely try them side-by-side and see how they compare! (I will look forward to your review!:-)

This came in a vacuum sealed packaging with brewing instructions written on the package. This is my 2nd or 3rd keemun. The first keemun I tried had quite a bit of smoke to it and I really enjoyed it. I was anticipating the smoke for this tea and there is only a hint of smoke for me. This tea is medium bodied. The first part of the sip is very smooth that hints at a tad bit of bitterness towards the end. There is also a dry malty taste with a hint of smoke. I am not sure what to make of this tea. It is a tasty cup, but not one that I would crave. I will have no problems finishing what I have but I am not sure this one would be a restock for me.

I want to note that my ratings are based on my preference and whether or not I would restock/repurchase a tea.

“This tea is medium bodied.”
You might consider: 8 oz. / 7 g / 194℉ / Rinse, 1, 2, 3 min. steeps

TeaTiff

I will give this a try. Thank you!

I received a sample of this from boychik. Thank you!

This has been on my list since I started exploring EG’s. For some reason I had the impression that this was an EGC, but it is not. It is however a very lovely EG. The base is the first thing I noticed. It is so malty and delicious. It, for me, is what puts the silk in this silky EG. When I drink EG I get two flavors, a bit of citrus and a bit of spice. I am not sure how to describe the spice other just saying spice. This was missing the spice component and was just a lovely citrus. The citrus for me was hidden under the wonderful base of this tea. It wasn’t hiding so much that it wasn’t noticeable, it did make itself known. Everything was well balanced and so delicious. I hope to purchase more down the road.

drank Darjeeling Blend by Harney & Sons

I received a very generous sample of this from boychik in her “Explore Darjeeling package”. Thank you!

This is really hitting the spot this afternoon. I am working on my second cup. After the TTB I am a little burnt out on flavored teas. For the last day or so I have been sipping quite a few of my straight black teas. This tea doesn’t have much spunk. There is nothing notable about it, but it is very enjoyable. It is a light cup, with a very dry feeling. It has hints of fruit and a tad bit of that muscatel (sp?) taste at the end of the sip. I will have no problem finishing this sample but the verdict is still out on a repurchase.

Darj are very finicky . So this blend always delivers, no let downs. It’s not wow but it’s there for you.

drank Coconut Cream Pie by Butiki Teas

Its been a while since I had a cup of this, but I have sent the last of it off, so I wanted to record my thoughts. The flavors in this didn’t quite do it for me. I remember the tea being pretty heavy on the rooibos and light on flavor. I wanted more out of this. I am also finding that coconut and tea for me, might not be my favorite combination. I am glad that I got to try this one. I am also glad I have been able to pass this along to some folks that will enjoy it much more than I.

TTB&C #21

I saved a tsp of this before sending the box on its way. I enjoyed this for one of my morning cups. I love mint, and I love bergamont, so the combination sounded pretty good, and it was. Neither flavor out did the other. It wasn’t one of those, must run out and buy this now cups, but I could see myself enjoying this again in the future.

This came in a vacuum sealed packaging with brewing instructions written on the package. My verdict is still out about the magical Fujian black teas. I have liked most that I have tried but are they really THAT good? This tea may just make me a believer. One sip of this and I was in tea heaven. It is smooth and sweet. For me some sips had a dark chocolate note, and others had the malty caramel. I have had some Fujian black teas and I would describe a lot of them with the term sweet potato. This one however, did not have as much of that. I would describe it as more of a baked bread taste than a sweet potato.

I re-steeped this and the 2nd cup was just as amazing as the first. I will definitely be ordering this in the future, and probably more like the near future. Thank you for allowing me to try this one!

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
