This was one of the teas from the sample pack from just Organic. Thank you.

Orange spice tea for me is a mood tea. I need to be in the right mood. Usually the holidays or a cozy night on the couch. Tonight with rainy and cold weather we are having it was a good fit. The more tea I drink the more scared of cinnamon I am. This tea made me a little nervous, but the balance of orange, spices with the cinnamon was done well. Like the chai. The base on this was a tad weak for my tastes, but that could be due to the amount of tea I normally use when preparing chai like tea with and sugar. This was an enjoyable cup.

This was another tea included in the sample pack that Just Organic sent out. Thank you!

I was pretty surprised to see orange peel in the ingredient list. I didn’t get too much of a hint of orange. The spices in this where well blended, but the base was a little weak for me. I normally make my chai extra strength and then add a tad bit of milk. The weak base could have been do to this.

I have been slowly working on sampling a few teas from each region/style. Assam is another type of tea that I have actually had very few of. At least straight assams. Most that I have had, have been flavored. This was a nice cup. I got the malty, and the choco and the characteristics I would, in my head, associate with an assam.

This was a little different than a lot of the recent EG’s I have been tasting. It had a tad bit of a weaker base, although still there and well rounded, and it was strong on the bergamot. This was a tasty cup.

This is a sample I received from bluebelle. Thank you. I often wonder if we sent a sample or two of tea out with tracking devices on it how many hops it would make and how far around the world it would get. This one looks like it originated from MissB.

I would have never guessed this was a mate. I was pretty convinced it was actually a white tea. There was no hint of mate to me. It was a berry light tea. This wasn’t really for me. I am glad I got to try it but, but there is no need to visit this one again.

This was a sample from the Just Organic Sample pack that was sent out. Thank you!

I really like rooibos. Its not something I want all the time, but whenever I have a cup it is always cozy and gives me warm fuzzies. I have never had straight rooibos. This would be my first. It is always flavored with something.. This is really nice. I brewed this in about 4-5oz of water and added a splash of milk. It is sweet and It tastes exactly as expected. rooibos with no thrills. Very comforting!

I received this from BrewTEAllySweet in her tea stash sale. Thank you!

I have really been craving the light oolongs the last few days so I rolled with it and have been sipping on this one tonight. I will be honest I have no idea which vintage this sample pack is from. This is my first unroasted Tiequanyin. This is very lovely. I have been brewing this in the new gaiwan. I get sweet, vegital, a hint of fruit. With some light oolongs I get a butteriness. This one I did not get much of that. There is also no bitterness for me at the end of the sip which is what I have disliked about a lot of the lighter oolongs. I could see myself purchasing more of this!

I have been drinking up the odds and ends of tea sitting around my place since Sunday. I am getting twitchy. Even though I have teas I have yet to sample for some reason I really have been wanting to place an order:) Oh the addiction, you know so i can try EVERYTHING!

Besides drinking down bits of tea I have also been playing with my new qaiwan. This is the tea I tried last night, and my first official pu’er. I tried the pu’er from the TTB, but really what I did was drink the rinse water so I will not count that.

Last night was all about the process and the exploration. I don’t remember much about the taste, but I do remember enjoying the tea. I have found that as I am brewing with the qaiwan I really enjoy the teas more in the middle set of infusions. This was the same for the pu’er. (This could be me still getting the parameters right? ) This tea started out a bit scary, and the middle infusions were full of life and flavor. I found myself craving this as I went to bed. I won’t say I am hooked just yet, but I will say last night experience just added to my want to try more tea, in this case more pu’er!

You will be!

TeaTiff

Haha. I am slightly afraid of that!

Dexter

Agreed – I see a pu’erh addict in the making… :))

boychik

You shouldn’t be afraid. Just jump. Seriously we are here to guide you. Haha I’m still a beginner even though I had a few. Have you tried any ripe( shou)?

TeaTiff

You guys have already been such great guidance! I haven’t had a chance to try shou, although shortly after this tasting note I jumped! I hit submit on a Mandala order with special dark. The curiosity got the better of me and I have been really wanting to try the milk oolong:)

boychik

Excellent choice. You won’t be disappointed. I can send you some samples to expand your horizons;)

TeaTiff

Thank you for the offer boychik, I will have to take a rain check on the samples. I am still working my way through your awesome darj explorer sample pack!

This was a sample I received in the LiberTeas box. Thank you for allowing me to try this one.

This has some good flavor, caramel, burnt sugar, but the base is very weak. It seems to be my complaint with all of Della Terra Teas that aren’t Rooibos. I wish I loved these more. This will not be a repurchase for me.

I am working on cleaning up samples that have bee n sitting around since January. This is a sample I received in the box I bought from LiberTEAS. Thank you for including this one.

I have been craving light oolongs, well really I have been craving the milk oolong from Gong Fu Tea, but I am trying my hardest not to purchase anything new for a bit. This is hitting the spot tonight. Light, creamy and buttery. Hints of floral. The later infusions became a bit more sweet and floral.

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
