Miss Starfish Send Message

This is the first sample I’ve tried from Teavivre (who I have to thank for being so amazingly generous, especially Angel) and it’s hands down the best white tea I’ve ever tasted. It was light and refreshing, absolutely gorgeous! It’s definitely hooked me from the first sip. The second steeping was just as good as the first as well. A definite keeper.

While I’m not sure I got so much Passionfruit from this, it was a really nice sweet fruity tea. Similar to what I had hoped Harney’s Apricot would be. I’m sad that I only had the one sample as I’m sure this would be absolutely amazing iced.

A really nice blackcurrant. Drinking this today has reminded me that NZ’s currants taste differently than currants from North America, which I haven’t had in nearly a decade. I bet this would be great iced as well.

I have a cup or two of this before bed in the evenings. A really nice and calming tea. After reading the description, I’m actually wondering whether mine has been mislabeled? I get quite a bit of fruit, specifically peach, and the chamomile is the only note I can detect from the ones listed. I’m almost out, so will investigate when I’m next in the store.

I bought a tag-along of this as I really wanted to give it a good test run. It smells AMAZING! It’s almost not fair, as I’m not sure anything could live up to that scent. The taste is pleasant and smooth, but I do find myself willing it to be more vanilla-ry to match the scent. I’m still on the hunt for my perfect vanilla, but this is a nice place filler for now.

The mint is quite light, which would have made for a nice cup but whatever green Harney has used for this blend doesn’t suit it at all I’m afraid. It’s bitter, almost like gunpowder and the mint definitely doesn’t compliment it.

Currently my default earl grey. Grew up making this for adults so acquired the taste slowly throughout my childhood.

This was my first tea. As a kid whose motto would have been “NEVER SLEEP!”, Mum was ever trying to find something to knock me out. I’ll have to revisit this one.

I decided to re-review this tea, now that my tea palate has expanded.

Wow! Holy artificial lemon flavor batman! There’s also a fake honey scent that I don’t love. The green base isn’t bad by any means, but it’s not fantastic. Between Twinning’s wide stretching availability and the base, it could do as an intro green. Heck, I really liked it way back when. I tried making an several iced pitchers of this (both traditional hot brew and cold brew methods) last year and it was horrible not matter which way I did it (and how much sugar or honey added) – just as a heads up if someone was looking for a cheap green to make iced tea out of, this is NOT it!

This has been my staple green for a while, and although I’m probably going to move on to greener tea pastures, I would imagine that I’ll always have a box in the house.

This had a delicious citrus scent dry, but is lacking when steeped. I can understand why this is recommended to someone new to greens, but the artificial citrus is way to sharp and fake for me. Leaves the tea a little bitter as an aftertaste.
