15350 Tasting Notes
mmmm picked this one out of the line up since I’m getting close to the end of it and it’s a lighter tea that i thought would balance out the black tea i also brought in to work with me. This is still one of my happy teas from Stacy, though I really should get around to trying to cold brew it one of these days. I think it might be a decent cold brew in summer.
SIPDOWN! Oh yeah baby! I’m going to get REALLY excited everytime i get to say that because ladies and gentlemen, my cupboard is a giant mess. I likely won’t get organized until the end of march but anything i can do to get through my smaller samples will go a long way.
I would for sure order this again if i needed a staple black in my cupboard. Do i love butiki’s premium assam and verdan’t laoshan black more? yes but this is a good solid delicious black that can hang out in my cupboard anytime i want a bit of a change from those two :)
I’ve been craving some Dragon Pearls for about a week. I also want to order & compare Teavana’s, Mandala’s, & Teavivre’s pearls. I went to Teavana for the instant gratification of getting some, & they were out :pppppppppp
Guess I’d better leap into action & place a few orders. Ironically, I’ve drank all 3, but not side by side, or even with days of each other. They all taste wonderful to me!
Morning Smoothie! oh how i’ve missed you :) Made one of these this morning for my first actual day back to work. It’s nice to have access to my matcha stores, though i’m feeling a little guilty because my pregnant friend just passed on all her tea to me and in it are 10 cans of matcha. That I now have to drink because she won’t be able too lol. So I WAS making progress with my matcha sipdowns so that I could place another redleaf order but now i’m back to having too much to get through haha
I still really enjoy this one, but only with the addition of a bit of french vanilla matcha to smooth out the flavours.
I’ll have to try the Pumpkin Pie and French Vanilla together. I’ve been thinking of ways to balance out the Pumpkin Pie since it’s a bit much for me.
courtney – it’s the only way i enjoy pumpkin pie. I make mine in smoothies with milk but i use a 2:1 ratio of pumpkin to vanilla if that helps for a starting point.
IB – uh mocha, chai, cheesecake, french vanilla, rasberry truffle, white chocolate uh…that’s all i can remember. along with 20+ tins of david’s tea (blech)
So a friend of mine is pregnant, and “storing her tea” at my place until some time in the future. I was given specific instructions to just drink it all – like i haven’t got enough of my own tea to drink! In any case i figure i would however, use the time to sample the teas she has that i’ve never tried.
So this one is up first! It’s hibiscus alright, but it’s over all not a bad little tea. I’d likely prefer it better cold and i certainly wouldn’t buy it myself but i wouldn’t refuse to drink it. I can get hints of orange in this but mostly it’s that sour hibiscus taste hanging out.
Had a cup of this tonight because I need to start cycling through more of the teas that i have large quantities of. I’m sitting near 300 teas in my cupboard and a friend of mine just dropped off her whole cupboard at my house “to store” because she’s pregnant and can’t stand the smell of tea in her house (nevermind that she’ll be limited in what she can drink anyway if she does get back to wanting tea). So i’ve got a lot of tea at home. I’m hoping that this weekend, or next i can get my swaps organized.
This tea? It’s still an average cup of tea. While i enjoy it, i likely won’t re-order because i still wish it were even more creamy and toffee-ey.
Preparation
I had this today as well. I’m still suffering from jet lag so after my dr’s appointment this morning i opted to just work from home so that If i needed a short nap, i could take advantage of the beds in my place :) I tried sticking to blacks today to help keep me awake but i’m not sure it’s helping. I’m about ready to go to sleep for the evening – have been since about 1pm lol
Still enjoying this tea, still a relatively decent black that I could have whenever. It won’t be a permanent in my collection but it’s still been a nice tea to drink.
so nice to be back with all my tea. Even if it is a little overwhelming. PIcked thie one out this morning since once the weather warms up, I can see myself wanting other flavours. Pumpkin and Chai’s tend to be winter teas for me.
I’m still enjoying this one quite a bit, though I’ll take a break from it once my 2oz’s are gone.
mmmm Wanted this tonight since i’ve been away from my butiki teas for sooooo long. Once again i was reminded of how much i enjoy this particular tea from stacy. It really is up there in terms of straight blacks, the more i have of it. Also still holding firm that i prefer this one over the upgraded version.
I need to get more of this. I suppose I should also try the upgrade version, just so I can see how they are different.
Don’t think of the upgrade as being the same tea. Take it on its own as a just a black tea to try :) it’s a nice tea, but doesn’t fall into my top black tea choices if that makes sense
hmmm I’m undecided on this one. I think I’ll need to have another go at this to make my final decision. It tastes like pear, but not as much “pear” as i want it to have. Tentative rating for now…will write more when i get a chance to sit with it some more :)
