1501 Tasting Notes
I’ve had this tea every morning for a week, bulletproof-style. THIS IS THE PERFECT BULLETPROOF TEA.
Phew. Now that that’s out of the way…
Seriously, I love this stuff. It’s okay on its own, but not amazeballs. A hint of cacao and mint, yes. No real strong mate taste (a plus in my books), a touch of the tulsi, can’t taste the ashwanghanda (not spelling that correctly, I know). A little sweet from the stevia…. I still needed to add more.
BUT AS BULLETPROOF – this stuff bloody well shines. OMG. I can’t get enough of it, and I’ll run out soon.
Bulletproof just means you’re blending the hot tea with coconut oil and/or grass fed butter, and then drinking it as you would a latte. (Trust me, this is WAY better than any latte you’ve ever had). Folks into noortropics, keto, or performance athletes drink this sort of thing. Lots of reasons why, won’t go into it here, but let’s just say this.
IT MAKES AWESOME BULLETPROOF TEA.
Try it.

Oh, hello Forever Nuts (DAVIDs Tea). How I’ve missed you…
Yep, same tea, same ingredients, I’m assuming the same supplier. I love both just as much — although I might love this version more, because The Tea Time Shop in NYC sent me a HUGE bag of teas to sample and review. This was in it.
YUM.
Cinnamon apple pie. In a hot mug.
Flavors: Almond, Apple, Cinnamon
Preparation
Zesty? Yes. Turmeric? No.
Really, there’s no turmeric in this tea – or, at least it’s not on the ingredient list, and I couldn’t taste, smell or see any in the blend.
Still, it’s quite tasty! A bit of a spicy zing to a citrus peel twang, along with a LOT of hibiscus (I say a lot, but really, it’s just my tastebuds… I don’t love hibiscus). There’s a touch of woody rooibos in the mix, and I swear something more spicy too, but again, nothing on the ingredient list to say what it might be.
Regardless, with a bit of sweetener, this is really tasty and easily drank. I’ll happily finish this generously sized sample bag (good for about 5-6 cups of tea).
A beautiful hug in thanks to The Tea Time Shop in NYC for sending me an enormous package of sample teas for me to taste, test out, and review. Like, we’re talking a dozen teas with about 5-6 cups each. WOW. Many thanks!

They told me at the tea fest that turmeric needs pepper or spice to activate it. I don’t see any turmeric or spice in the ingredients!
@indigobloom – Yep! I’ve had an avurvedic doctor tell me the same, years ago. That black pepper activates the anti-inflammatory ingredients in turmeric… hilariously, only one company makes turmeric pills with pepperin (pepper extract) in it!
I think the tea is mislabeled somehow, I’ll have to ask the owner. I do, however, want to try their turmeric chai now though, which I didn’t get in my enormous sample package.
Out of the freebie teas that Davidsons sent me, this was my favorite.
Creamy coconut with the mystery ingredient made it oh-so-delicious! I couldn’t believe it when I read the ingredient list, I’ll be honest. YUM.
Note: MUST be steeped at less than boiling to get out the proper flavors.
Not as “tropical” as I’d like, but still delicious. I’ll definitely seek this one out again.

Ooh, yummy. Winter punch!
If you’re anything like me, this tea will make you think of a spiced wine. The smell is divine, and soooo addictive. I could literally just smell this all day and leave it at that.
Steeped up it tastes a bit different than a spiced wine – although it would’ve been fun to mull it in wine. Hm… deep thoughts.
It also needed a LOT of sweetener to get it palatable. Otherwise, it was dry and almost antiseptic to me. Too much hibiscus for my palate.
I’d love to try more of this and play with it a bit, it was a super fun tea.
Thanks Dollar Tea Club for the sample! $1 for three 6.5g samples INCLUDING shipping – I’m in.

“Ooh, Raspberry Lemonade… sounds delicious. I’m trying it!”
That’s my first reaction to the three tea samples, 6.5g each, that Dollar Tea Club sent me today.
Out of the bag, it smells distinctly like pink bubblegum. Brewed up, it smells more raspberry bubblegum… interesting.
The folks I’m staying with had a cup (this made two, 12oz cups of tea). Their reaction? “It was sweet, nice”. They’re not tea people, but they appreciated it.
I’m a bit more… discerning? lol Or picky.
Hibiscus haters, don’t try this one. It’s as bloody as they come, in all its glory. It’s also surprisingly tart the longer you steep it. Sadly, more sweetener is needed to make it palatable for this gal.
Sweetened, I could drink a whole jug of this at one sitting, especially once it cooled. Yep, this tea’s a keeper.
NOTE: I received this tea for free in exchange for an honest review.

My birthday gift to myself – Josephine!
I contemplated between this and the chai – I’m SO thrilled I picked this. Was a touch concerned about the jasmine, and I needn’t be. Grapefruit, orange are both very present and juicy, strong malty black base, sweet finish with a hint of jasmine – but only lending some smoothness, nothing more.
Expensive, and soooo worth it.
Plus, it reminded me of the time – I can’t make this up – where an American in Paris and I bought every single Laduree macaron, brought them to a nearby park (it’s famous but I can’t for the life of me remember the name), and sat next to it, eating half each of every single one.
Flavors: Grapefruit, Jasmine, Malt, Orange, Smooth, Sweet
Preparation
I’m a bad reviewer – don’t consider this a proper review. I’ll just start with that.
Why? Because I’ve added all sorts of things to this mix today, I just didn’t feel like straight matcha.
What did I add? Uh….
some Ghirardelli 60% chocolate chips and stevia, along with chocolate almond milk and hot water.
Matcha purists, I’m sorry. This is just sooooo darn good.
Preparation
No idea why this is called Presidential, unless it’s just to keep in tune with the (fun) company name. Regardless, as stated, it’s a black peach tea.
I love the packaging and the smell, and the company’s customer service rocks my casbah. Still this tea isn’t as impressive as I want it to be. Yes, it’s delicious. The tea leaves are a bit smaller than I’d prefer; I love to watch my teas unfurl as they steep. This one is more granular than long and leafy. Or, at least the batch I received, is.
As well, this just doesn’t taste strongly of peach, to me. Third time I’ve had it, this time it’s cooled to almost lukewarm, and it’s the most peachy that I’ve found it so far. It definitely needs sweetener, and while I do enjoy it (it’s smoooooth like butter), it’s just not luscious and ripe and juicy like I want a peach tea to be.
In fairness, I’ve yet to find a peach tea that’s luscious and ripe and juicy tasting. So on that scale, if I’m comparing to others, this one does a bang-up job. At the top 5% of the peach teas I’ve had, so far.
Still, there’s an artificial quality to this that I just don’t dig, and it bugs me. I’ll steep it a few more times in different ways (this is my third? fourth? try) to see if I can pull out it’s juiciness, minus the aftertaste. As well, I steeped it a bit long and hot this time, which may be the issue.
