1500 Tasting Notes
Grabbed this the other day in White Rock from two lovely gals that I’ve now Steepster-indoctrinated. (Muahahaha! And, welcome ladies!)
This, along with Paris Breakfast (that I also grabbed) came highly recommended with my requests (not floral or jasmine, flavored, dessert-y, earth-y or the like). I tried this the other night, and again today. I had the same reaction each time – I LOVE the smell. It’s decadent, buttery and gooey, like caramel should be. Drinking it isn’t as amazing, but as one of the staffers pointed out, if it did, it would be artificial.
Which I think is why I don’t love this tea. I need to drink it a few more times, but, it’s just not fully “real”. There’s something vaguely artificial to me, which might be the red rooibos (not normally a huge fan), or perhaps the flavoring used. Not sure. I still like it, it’s still really tasty, I’m happy to share… I just won’t reach for it consistently like I do the Caramel Puerh from Tea Desire.

Met some new tea friends at Murchies today, including some amazeballs lady with a TEA TATTOO!!
Alas, this is about the tea, not the awesomeness that is the Murchies staff in White Rock. :)
Grabbed this today, which is technically a spice and not a tea, but I drank it as a tea ((and it’s meant to be added to a tea, so, yeah). Oh so good. Truly, perfect blend of spices, and exactly what I needed tonight.

Whoa. This is one intense tea. There’s a warning on the bottle saying this is a very effective tea, and that if you want something gentler, try another (I think the kidney blend).
Um, yeah. It works. It’s definitely cleansing. I recommend not eating much before/after having it…

Unsure why I haven’t reviewed this yet – grabbed another small baggie of it the other day. This sounds like I’m buying drugs — well, this is Vancouver — but really, it’s one of those super-hippie leftover vegetarian restaurants/grocery store, where you can buy any amount of handmade herbal teas in the very back. Yes, that kind of place!
This is a surprisingly sweet tea, even with the maté in it. I kinda, sorta like it. Of all the herbals I’ve grabbed from Sweet Cherubim, this is by far the best tasting. Does it work? Too soon to tell… but it sure works as a diruetic.

Severely overleafed, this is strangely like bubblegum tea. I mean, it smells like it (see previous review) but now it tastes like it, too. So strange. Okay, so if you like – or, hey, want to try bubblegum tea, the pink junky kind from childhood that’s almost impossible to find these days – try this tea.

Why, oh why do I find this tea so comforting? I just do. It’s my go-to after a long day, even if the “long” consisted of walking along Commercial Drive, eating raw Nanaimo bars, drinking tea in a lovely shop, writing, using the sauna, visiting friends, and then more visiting friends. The perfect slacker/awesome day.
Preparation
Grabbed a tiny bit of this while at DAVIDs; the staffer suggested I “had” to try it. It really does smell and taste like mulled wine, surprisingly. The oolong works well with the spices – I honestly believed this would be something I’d have to add wine to, for “authenticity”. Nope, it’s surprisingly good as-is, if a bit, um, watery. Glad I tried it, will happily finish it, that’s about it.
