I am very fond of Numi Teas. I also really enjoy breakfast blends. I have to say that this was Ok. I have being drinking many teas over the last few weeks/holiday season. So, you will see a lot of logs at once, I was keeping notes. With that, I will say that I think that the best breakfast blends seem to come from places that specialize in breakfast blends. While Numi makes wonderful teas, this is not their specialty and it needs some work. Little weak and definitely is not complemented when cream and sugar is added-which is my favorite way of drinking a breakfast blend, as well I think a lot of people who drink breakfast blends. Just my opinion.

I really like Oregon Chai. I found it in tea bag form while at my local super market. I have had chai tea made from their concentrate many times. I found the tea bag just as good as the concentrate flavor. I think Oregon Chai has a distinct taste for a chai, meaning, more spicy than sweet. I do usually add cream/sugar to this. If you ever get a chance, read the company history on Wiki about Oregon Chai, I found it to be very interesting.

drank Spiced Apple Cider by Teavana
50 tasting notes

I like Teavana Tea. I just think it tends to be overpriced and I always get someone at the store who tries to sell me something I don’t want, even after I tell them that 3 times! When I walk by a store, I can not resist stopping however, and like I said, I do like their tea. I go in and buy this tea, and the salesman puts 4ounces in a bag. I tell him I only want 2ounces, and he takes a little out and asks if that is good, no I say, 2 ounces still-3.4, 2.8, 2.4-REALLY I say! I get the tea home, look inside, I realize that I have an unusually large # of cinnamon sticks in my mix. REALLY, I say again. This tea was good. I can get good tea for about half of what I paid for this however. Would I buy it again, I am not sure, if the sales experience was the same, probably not. I am not going to lie, I know I will buy more Teavana Tea, this one will just not be on the top of my list. I can buy cinnamon sticks and add them to things when I brew, just like they do. Sorry, but it is true.

drank Golden Chai by Numi Organic Tea
50 tasting notes

I have to start off by saying that Numi is probably the first tea bag I ever had that really “wowed” me. I have tried many of their teas and if I see their name, I feel that it is going to be quality. So, that is why I got this Chai. I have been on a Chai kick, with the colder weather. This Chai is good. Not great, but I did enjoy it. I think that the cardamon may have been a little off for me, when I try to put a finger on it. I still love Numi, just will try a different Chai next time. The Holiday one sounds good.

drank Joy by Tazo

I gave this 3 more tries! I was with family for Thanksgiving and Nobody had any good tea. I didn’t bring any knowing I was buying…heck, I learned my lesson, always have tea on hand. I do actually carry some in my purse usually but I cleaned my purse. ANYWAY, I needed tea! Went to Starbucks on Black Friday and got a cup in the AM, then went in the PM and bought a box for home. The young lady at the counter was a GEM, she hooked me up when the fancy box of Joy was gone. I have steeped this at least 3 different ways, and I actually re-steep this once even. This whole experiment if you will, has really shown me how water temp can play a crucial part in brewing. I knew it did, but this actually let me taste it. I have enjoyed this best brewed as a green tea. I usually use a little sugar, no milk, with this one. I have been drinking it for 3 days now in the AM.

I have had many Mighty Leaf teas. I like them-quality tea bag, you can usually count on. I was at a local coffee shop, and they used this tea bag to make my London Fog. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Haven’t had a London Fog before, this will not be my last with this tea bag or with other Earl Greys. This concoction has made me start to like Earl Greys. (Not a big fan before)

drank Wild Berry Hibiscus by Tea Forte
50 tasting notes

I have been trying to drink more herbal blends and lessen my caffeine intake. This tea was an attempt to do that. I will cut to the chase, it didn’t work. I will say that I did taste berry and citrus notes in this. As for hibiscus, when brewed I could smell it, and I guess now I can say I tasted it because I can’t say I had hibiscus flavor before this. So, I thought, what can I do with this tea to improve it. Well after a trip to Teavana not so long ago, I realized how much they blend different teas together. I thought, I could do that at home. So, I took this tea bag and added it to a batch of green tea I was brewing. Low and behold, it helped me enjoy both teas more. I have sinced continued to mix teas together, so I learned something from all this. In short however, I am not a big wild berry hisiscus fan.

I will start by saying right off, I am not a seasoned green tea drinker. I am learning. I found this at a local super market. Price was right, I felt, so I went for it. I will admit, I thought the packaging was ‘cute’, but the bag inside did rip easily and was hard to keep the tea in. I made it work, but it was a little messy opening each time. I have drank this 3 different times. No sugar the first two and sugar the last. Compared to other green teas I have been trying, this flavor was a little off/not consistent with. It was stronger and the color bolder then most I have had. I will note, the last time I brewed it, with the sugar, I also threw in a wildberry hibiscus tea bag (from Tea Forte). I will have to say, I really enjoyed it this way. By itself, it was ok, with the wildberry hibiscus it was really ok.

drank Heaven Rooibos by Premium Steap

This tea had the rooibos taste with a little chocolate, little mint added. I can’t say that I could detect vanilla. It was good, it did resemble a thin mint cookie. It wasn’t ‘heaven’ per se, but I enjoyed it.

drank O Christmas Tea by Capital Teas
50 tasting notes

I was able to taste Capital Teas at the Philadelphia Coffee and Tea Festival. I had seen them in my tea magazines and have come very close to putting in an order. Since tasting them, I will definitely order off of them-I have many of their teas listed on my Christmas list!
This was not a tea I would typically be drawn too, green is not my tea of choice usually. However, I am so glad I tried this. It was amazing to say the least. The smell is very aromatic when brewing, but then all 3 Capital Teas I bought are. I think you can taste all the flavors noted in the ingredients, the combination really accents the sencha green tea. I have been making everyone taste this, including my daughters. My oldest said-tastes like tea, but it is a little better than the others. That coming from her is a compliment, honest!
My 4 oz tin is almost gone. I hope they have this around after Christmas or at least make it again next year. It is a wonderful keeper in my book!

Wonderful magazine I first received as a gift from my Mother-In-Law, who knows I love tea and saw a teapot that I own on one of the covers.
Tea Magazine is another, info for them:

I found them on Pinterest while looking at tea. Neat Pinterest site-check it out.

I have been a tea drinker for a very long time. My Grandmother got me started with Lipton, complete with cream and sugar, when I was 8 yrs old. I have only continued my obsession through the years. I have been really into Rooibos lately, flavored almost always! I tend to drink a lot of flavored tea, to help me cut down on the sugar I use and do not need! Cheers!
