50 Tasting Notes
Day #2 of 12 Days of Christmas Tea Swap 2013. This tea smelled so good and it tasted just the same. There are times when I have been brewing tea lately when it smells soooo good, then when I drink it, it is not as good as it smelled. Well, this tea WAS as good as the smell. I did try without and with a touch of sugar, of course I preferred with. Thanks so much for this tea TeaTiff, it was wonderful!
Got as a free sample with my order, but I would buy this! This is a wonderful natural caffeine free drink to end the day. I was drawn to this fruit tea and rationed the last bit I had. They really did well with this blend, makes me want to try their other fruit blends. I am finding that I am usually not a hibiscus fan, (to be quite frank, that flavor is not one that was really one I knew until I really started looking for it) but I think it works in this blend (it also is the last ingredient so there may be a small amount helping make it work for me). Thoroughly enjoyed!
I have been a Rooibos nut lately! I could not wait to try this. Description mentions cinnamon and spices, which I definitely detect. It also mentioned white snowflake sprinkles, but I did not seem to have any, and I was sooo good with that. I did not detect any creamy taste, which maybe the sprinkles helped lend, but I doubt it. This did not taste like ‘nog’ to me at all, but I enjoyed it. I actually think this was my favorite out of all the tea I chose in the sampler. Actually my favorite tea from Della Terra, was the free sample they included in my order, Holiday Cheer-which is another review.
Part of a sampler pack I ordered and picked out the flavors. I think that Della Terra Teas look very nice, but some of the ingredients, I am not into, the main one being sprinkles. I LOVE the LOOK of sprinkles, I actually use them to decorate baked goods often. However, I am not very into eating them, let alone DRINKING them. This tea also had tiny marshmallows with brown flavor looking stuff on it. Not into it. Sorry
2nd of 4 teas I bought in a sampler pack. I also received wintermint and it was fun to compare the 2 while tasting. I liked wintermint a tad more, it had a better mint flavor. This tea has white and red looking sprinkles in the mix. I can surmise that these additions ruined my really liking this tea. The flavor they added was not something I really enjoyed. I will finish the whole stash, but would not go to this again. Wintermint seemed to give me more of the mint tea flavor I was looking for this holiday season.
I have had two pots of this now. I really want to love this tea because it is the one that actually pushed me over the edge to order Della Terra teas. I really do not taste any pineapple, just the cake part. The cake part tastes more like a coffee cake to me. It is very similar to 2 cake teas I recently tried from Simpson and Vail. I am trying to figure out the ingredient/flavor that keep giving me that coffee cake flavor. I need to do some more drinking to decipher with my taste buds. I enjoyed this tea, just not what I expected at all. All these cake teas are making me more tolerant of coffee flavor-not sure if that is good or bad! Also not sure if that is why some people are drawn to them, they are drinkers of both.
This was Day#1 for 12 Days of Christmas Tea Swap 2013. Thanks Ellyn, it was packaged so professional looking! This is my first DavidsTea! It looked beautiful and smelled just as good as it looked. Black tea and the sweetness of the pear really stood out to me. I will have to try more of DavidsTea. They seem to have a lot of sweet teas, which are right up my alley.
Day #9 of the 12 days of Christmas. Thank you Khaleesical-very cleaver how you tied it in! Can I just say how excited I was to read that this is from the “Tales and Tea Leaves” Lord of the Rings fandom blends. I have an Arwyn in my house, so if you are on the same wave I need not say more! This is my first Adagio experience. I will say I enjoyed it. The black tea blend was all that I tasted and it was nice.
Glad you enjoyed it !!
