Wow…so smooth. A beautiful rich tasting tea. I even loved the feel of this tea. If you have not ordered from Brenden yet you are missing out! I steeped 2 x according to directions on the label.

I got this as a sample included in my H & S order. I was reluctant to try it because senchas are most definitely not my usual thing. I almost gave the sample away to a friend. I am glad I didn’t. Honestly this was a pleasant surprise. I had it with a naughty piece of vanilla cake and it was perfect little pairing and the only way I’d drink it. I needed the bitter seaweed green with the sweet. If you like senchas you might enjoy this one. Now I can say I tried it again and yep…senchas are not for me.

This was fairly good. I got it in a DT Sampler. Burr… it is 15 degrees currently- it warmed me up when I got to work but it is not one I’d personally purchase.

I love oolongs. This is a citrus and vanilla flavored oolong. I bought this one based on the reviews and that it won awards. I’m still on the fence about this one. I actually liked the 2nd & 3rd steep better than the first. 3rd steep I do get that hint of an orange dreamsicle at the end of my sip. Not one I’d for sure buy again but nice to try. I may rate this higher after a few more attempts.

Just say no…gross, bad aftertaste. Not worth writing more. I know there are folks that like this one. I personally don’t like tea blends with chocolate or yogurt pieces at all.

I was sent a sample of this beautiful oolong. This is an exceptional oolong tea that allows several wondrous steeps. It is a beautiful amber color, very smooth… and has caramel smoke fruity smooth richness which is hard to describe. If you can snag the 5 for $5 offer from Verdant they will send you 5 teas to sample…This tea was so dang good. Sip down and savor if you get the opportunity!

This is surprisingly a very pleasant tea. I had it hot…many say this is best iced. If I have another hot cup I may steep only 2 minutes because it tasted a tad bitter or artificial at 3-4 minutes. I will definitely try it iced next. It is fun to try… the jury is still out if I’d buy more.

Ok…my first tasting did not go well but the fault was mine. I used too many pearls and steeped it too long so it got bitter.
*I later tried using only 2 pearls, used a lower water temp and a much shorter steep time…amazing difference. I enjoyed re-steeping this one too.
Side note: I think a thinner rimmed glass mug or a delicate tea cup is the way to go with this delicious jasmine tea.

Bio

Janee here,
Tea lover…actually quite more on the obsessed side.
Nurse. Vintage Kitchen Glass Collector. Wife, a mom & a gram of 4 sweet littles.
Faith. Nature. Music. Baking. Gardening. Mid Century Modern. Love dogs. Love my old farmhouse.

Black and Oolong teas have my heart. I prefer a high quality loose straight tea.
I certainly don’t mind a well done flavored tea or a good tisane especially in the evenings though I am not a fan of artificial flavors, stevia, or yogurt/ chocolate bits added.
I in general don’t care too much for rooibos and honeybush blends… though a couple blends have surprised me in a good way.

How I rate: IMHO all of our ratings are pretty subjective…Keep in mind I am in no way an expert…but I am an enthusiast for sure! I love the experience.

95-100 Bliss, nirvana, a slice of heaven, I need this in my cupboard
90-94 Excellent, hands down would stock up…love in a cup
80-89 Very good- Would probably purchase again without regrets…delicious
70-79 Decent. OK. I would not refuse a cup if offered but I also would not go out and purchase.
60-69 Meh. Definitely would not purchase
59-50 Not for me, I would never purchase
<50 Just say NO. Can not fathom finishing the cup.

My usual teapot steeping (western) method: 30 oz teapot, 3-4 perfect spoons of tea, freshly boiled filtered water, 1-6 minutes depending on the type of tea. Occasional milk or cream but I prefer straight with no sweeteners/additions.

My usual mug steeping method: 16 oz mug, 1-2 perfect spoons of tea, freshly boiled filtered water,1-6 minutes depending on type of tea.

Teaware I use:
I own too much. I like using the Tea Press from DavidsTea when on the go. I often use the Perfect Steeper from Teavana or DT.
I heart my Japanese Iwachu Tetsubin cast iron teapot. It stays warm, it’s beautiful, and it adds to the experience. I have a few english antique teapots I love as well.
