This is quite good but be careful not steep more than 3-4 as it gets bitter quickly imo. Liquor is a very light golden color. Slightly astringent with a dry end sip. Floral, Vegetal, and Mineral notes.

Flavors: Floral, Mineral, Vegetal

If anybody is interested in purchasing some of this from me (discounted)- send me a message. I have a sealed 25g bag and another 50g in opened bags. So I probably have a total of 75g. I paid $10.50 per 25g but am will to let it go at a fair discount.

Whomever wrote that this blend tastes like an atomic fireball jawbreaker or red hots is spot on but I’d say it also has a splash of orange. This sachet was an included sample in my recent order. I see this one of their more popular blends. It is so sweet you’d swear there was sugar in it but supposedly there is none added. Not one I’d go out to buy but I am enjoying the cuppa none the less.

Delicious start to the day. I’ll be sad when this sample is gone.

This is what’s in my cup this morning. It is an excellent black current tea…I can’t help think something in this tea reminds me of their Paris blend though. Anyways, the base is smooth and the current is simply delicious-nothing artificial tasting.
Not much more to say on this Friday. Looking forward to the weekend and spring time in general. Have a good day Teaps!

I believe Paris is black currant, caramel flavor, and possibly bergamot? I think it may at one time have said stone fruit in the description, but I think Harney and Sons said it had black currant in it. I had this a long time ago. I need to try it again.

I guess I was expecting a bit more of the fruit flavor to shine through. I looked at Paris ingredients and you are right. Still a very good tea.

I was gifted this sample. I have never had a coffee pu’erh. I don’t know…this may go along with how I feel about chocolate flavored teas which I generally don’t care for. Not terrible/not great. I would not turn down a cup but would not buy it either.

I used 4 balls…so good. I am on a roll today and wish I was home having a cozy/lazy day sipping down delicious teas. I get notes of chocolate, mineral, autumn leaves, leather, and sweet potatoes. Definitely a good buy. Thank you Teavivre!

This is a good EG…not nearly as good as Harney & Sons imo. I am still on the quest for the best EG. Sipping this down at work this morning and hoping for a better day than yesterday…poor kiddo had one of the worst arm fractures I’ve ever seen- had surgery last night- poor sweet little.
On the bright side it is in the low 60’s today in Chicagoland and the birds are coming back! Hooray for Spring!

Profile

Bio

Janee here,
Tea lover…actually quite more on the obsessed side.
Nurse. Vintage Kitchen Glass Collector. Wife, a mom & a gram of 4 sweet littles.
Faith. Nature. Music. Baking. Gardening. Mid Century Modern. Love dogs. Love my old farmhouse.

Black and Oolong teas have my heart. I prefer a high quality loose straight tea.
I certainly don’t mind a well done flavored tea or a good tisane especially in the evenings though I am not a fan of artificial flavors, stevia, or yogurt/ chocolate bits added.
I in general don’t care too much for rooibos and honeybush blends… though a couple blends have surprised me in a good way.

How I rate: IMHO all of our ratings are pretty subjective…Keep in mind I am in no way an expert…but I am an enthusiast for sure! I love the experience.

95-100 Bliss, nirvana, a slice of heaven, I need this in my cupboard
90-94 Excellent, hands down would stock up…love in a cup
80-89 Very good- Would probably purchase again without regrets…delicious
70-79 Decent. OK. I would not refuse a cup if offered but I also would not go out and purchase.
60-69 Meh. Definitely would not purchase
59-50 Not for me, I would never purchase
<50 Just say NO. Can not fathom finishing the cup.

My usual teapot steeping (western) method: 30 oz teapot, 3-4 perfect spoons of tea, freshly boiled filtered water, 1-6 minutes depending on the type of tea. Occasional milk or cream but I prefer straight with no sweeteners/additions.

My usual mug steeping method: 16 oz mug, 1-2 perfect spoons of tea, freshly boiled filtered water,1-6 minutes depending on type of tea.

Teaware I use:
I own too much. I like using the Tea Press from DavidsTea when on the go. I often use the Perfect Steeper from Teavana or DT.
I heart my Japanese Iwachu Tetsubin cast iron teapot. It stays warm, it’s beautiful, and it adds to the experience. I have a few english antique teapots I love as well.
