78 Tasting Notes
This is a rare white tea from an experimental first flush batch, grown on the Glenburn Estate in Darjeeling.
Wow. I am so thrilled I ordered some of this tea. This may easily cause the most ardent black tea or tisane lover to consider adding this white tea to their collection.
This definitely has floral and delicate citrus notes. I detected a hint of pineapple or peach or fruitiness. It is crisp, dry, and clean with a beautiful gold liqueur. The dry leaf is large twisted whole leaf with an abundance of silver tips. I wish I could give a better description- I LOVE this tea. This is a limited edition- I highly recommend adding some Glenburn’s Peach Blossom White Darjeeling to your tea stash before it’s gone! So good…
Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Honey, Lavender, Lemon, Muscatel, Pineapple, Rose, White Wine
Preparation
Overall this has a nice peach flavor. I also taste the apricot. Almonds…yum.
Sadly, I made the mistake of letting it steep way too long in my tea press this morning whilst making up a cuppa cold brew and the result was not good (had to toss it). But this tea is seriously worth trying but …*be wary of steep time/bitterness. I personally enjoyed it hot but I will give cold brewing another shot and set my timer so I don’t forget about it next time! =P
Flavors: Almond, Apricot, Orange, Peach
Preparation
Not sure I understand what the fuss is about this one. This could be a love/hate blend I think. Definitely one to steep for a shorter amount of time! I love jasmine, but I think it’s the white hibiscus blossom that overpowers it for me.
Nope…Well I am happy to have only a couple of samples of this in my stash.
Flavors: Bitter, Hibiscus, Jasmine, Peach
Preparation
Strong cinnamon and cloves…they are a standout along with the pineapple in this green tea blend. But this blend has white chocolate pieces and stevia which cause me to bring my rating down a bit. It’s good/ok, nothing great. I will finish what I have left but won’t be buying more.
I had this hot but I plan to make it into a latte and I am hoping that will help with the sip-down.
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Cloves, Pineapple
Preparation
A light floral & citrus high mountain oolong…very smooth, light, complex. Delicious. Now on to my 3rd steep.
(Spring 2017 Harvest). I was just on the perusing the What-Cha website- looks like Alistair is running low on this one so if you want to purchase, now is the time.
I know many DT fans tend to go for the “strawberry rhubarb parfait”…but stacked against each other I enjoy this infusion way better. The rosemary totally works. The hibiscus does not overpower. There is no sour yogurt taste like the SRP has. I think they are discontinuing this one soon so it is time to stock up if you like this one too!
Flavors: Hibiscus, Pleasantly Sour, Spices, Strawberry, Sweet, Vanilla
Preparation
Omg. Just not my thing. I was so hopeful with the name alone. I tried it straight (my fave), then honey, then milk— nothing could improve this tea for me. Dividing what I have left to give to two tea loving friends to try. So glad I went with the sample size.
Flavors: Dirt, Rooibos
Ok so this did remind me of vicks vapor rub…but in a really good way. Very soothing. I enjoyed it and it fended off a headache I was fighting most of the day. Even my hubby who is in no way as keen on tea as I am asked me to order more. This is one to have hot only.
Flavors: Apple, Eucalyptus, Mint
