250 Tasting Notes
My sister came over for tea and chose this one to try, time to boil the water!
First steep: Not bad, not bad at all. Not entirely mango, but not all that far away. I will admit it would be really hard-pressed to recreate the flavour of a mango in a tea, but this one doesn’t do too badly. It`s fruity at first with the white tea lingering afterwards.
Second steep: Slightly weaker, but still satisfying. We got two pots out of this which isn’t bad at all!
Preparation
Smells strongly of ginger, let’s hope it soothes my throat a little.
First steep: I find I have a really hard time even motivating myself to drink this, but today my throat is hoarse and my taste buds are off. I suppose, that might be the only way I can tolerate this tea… I have to be ill.
Second steep: Upping the rating slightly… the flavours blend together a bit more with this steep, which makes the overall cup much more pleasant.
Preparation
The smell that wafts out of the bag is definitely pink lemonade—erm goji berry lemonade?
Hot: I am not really a fan of this tea. It reminds me too much of the sick-days as a kid, when my dad would make me a hot lemonade to soothe my throat. The only difference is that I could make one of those for pennies (hot water + lemon wedge + honey = my dad’s hot lemonade) as opposed to this which is a bit pricier.
Cold: For obvious reasons (it smelled like pink lemonade) I have been brewing this double-strength in the refrigerator, and what a difference it makes! Add a splash of lemon and agave and it’s almost identical to that quintessential summer beverage, only better for you (I would assume, being lower in sugar and calories). Not sure I will re-stock once it’s gone though, seems like something I would only drink in the summertime.
Preparation
Has a smell reminiscent of… cough drops?
When I bought this the sales ladies couldn’t agree on which was better: Green & Fruity or Raspberry Nectar. So, I bought both. I tried to like this one, I really did, but it just always seems to come out tasting medicinal and not like tea at all. I have tried it both hot and iced, and the only way I can tolerate it at all is when it is iced, but I still don’t really enjoy it. So, what am I supposed to do with the rest of the bag?
Le sigh.
