121 Tasting Notes
I’m knitting gifts and I let a cup of Amy Pond slightly cool. Man does this tea get bitter when I let it cool off slightly! This tea is very warming and the spice picks me up when it’s hot, but once it has cooled off the orange takes over and makes it bitter. I’m not too sure if that makes sense, because it could be the cranberry or rather the combination of the two. I did not oversteep either because hot it was still delicious. I think also my venture with Mariage Freres teas have made me realize what good, high quality tea is suppose to taste like. So maybe this tea is disappointing me because it’s lower quality and quickly became bitter once it cooled down.
Preparation
Yep I still really enjoy this tea. I had a very rough day and this is making the end of it much better than the way it started. The slice of chocolate cake I have also helps. The peppermint isn’t too strong and I can pick up some of the rose now.
Preparation
If I brew this as directed by David’s Tea, this tea comes out very bitter and too fragrant. I brewed this at a lower temperature and for a slightly longer time and it’s a great lightly scented green tea. Steeping again though brings out the bitterness. It’s a good tea, but nothing wow-amazing. Probably won’t stock this again in my cupboard.
Preparation
Oops, I’m sorry Santa, I steeped you for too long. At least vanilla almond milk will fix you right up. Still enjoying this tea, it’s my go to tea when I’m making gifts. The peppermint isn’t too strong and I’m still getting my caffeine fix from the black tea. Now if only this stupid soy wax would melt..
Preparation
I really need a pick me up and chose this tea.. but I think I need to steep something else. I don’t hate this tea but it doesn’t wow me either. I think it’s because the earl grey isn’t the best quality. I love H&S’s imperial earl grey and Lupicia’s. They’re very flavorful and this doesn’t taste as good. And again I can’t pick up any of the other blended flavors in this tea. All I get is earl grey which isn’t as good as other’s I have in my cupboard.
Preparation
Very pleasant mint tea with the rooibos to add a little something. I’m not sure what because I’m horrible at picking up flavors in my tea, but it’s tastier than my last mint tea which was also loose leaf. Maybe the rose also has something to do with it. Regardless this is very nice and relaxing and is the second Mariage Freres tea I have tried. I can also get 6 steeps out of this which makes the cost of the tea easier to swallow.
Preparation
My first Mariage Freres tea! I love green tea and i’m not big on flavored green teas but I took the leap. The tea itself smells very floral and fruity but upon brewing you really taste the green tea with just a hint of sweetness. I quite enjoy it because I’m not huge on overpowering flavors with my green teas.
Preparation
So long my friend. I actually like this tea quite a bit. I steep it at a lower temperature and it’s sweet and floral to me but I have a soft spot for hibiscus. This tea is great for soothing my throat when I’m feeling under the weather or comforting me on a cold night. I finished this up today and I was considering on purchasing more, but I have some white teas from Butiki coming in. From what I have heard, Stacy will probably infinitely top this tea.
Preparation
I really love this tea. It has been my go to tea before I go to bed and greatly helped me nurse a horrible migraine. My only dislike is that the tea is so light, you can’t steep it again. It’s only good for one steep and it feels like a waste of tea to me. I need to find another that has the tartness of the cherries with soothing chamomile that I can steep more than once.
