Sipdown! And one less tea to bring on the road! This tea is delicious. I love the depth, but without any heaviness. Just awesome for an Assam. TTC is consistently just amazing. Soon enough we’ll have a new address to place tea orders to!

I’ve been enjoying this tea each morning as we prepare, and prepare, and prepare some more for the move. Really great way to start the day. This tea smells awesome, and tastes even better!

Sil

I made this one this morning in my totally awesome new Stelton mug, courtesy of my amazing girlfriend! I am currently sipping away at my desk.

This has always been, and I believe will always be, one of my all-time favourite teas. The mixing of the flavours with the green tea base is just perfection!

P.S. I found a place to score these in Canada, and already placed an order, so now I can sip down what’s remaining of my old tins of both Bangkok and Tokyo. What an awesome day!

Share your secret….where do you score this in Canada?

Haha I discovered Premium Teas, an online shop based in Ontario. My teas were updated as shipped this morning, so I will further report once they actually arrive. :)

This one is so good I had two cups to start my Monday at work. It brews up a beautiful dark brown, almost black. The scent and the flavour are so toasty and just delicious. I just love this one.

We picked up some when we visited California this last summer, then we got back and I ended up ordering four more packages. I just can’t be without this one. I love it cold brewed and hot. There is just no downside to this tea (well, barley).

I didn’t even realize I had this one! It was a 10g sample pack, graciously added in with one of my orders. Can’t complain!

I’ve downed most of this while not really realizing just how quick it was disappearing. That’s always a sign of a tasty tea. Or a busy mind. Let’s go with tasty tea.

This one has a smooth flavour with the most subtle hint of astringency. Usually I’m not huge on astringency, but here it works great. There is a definite stonefruit flavour and something else familiar I can’t quite put my finger on. Overall quite the tasty tea. I’m happy I had this sample.

Thanks TTC!

Nice thick mouthfeel, with a hint of sweetness. A very nice Assam, not at all bitter.

Another win for TTC!

Brought this one in my ceramic travel mug to work this morning. Why I still choose to work Saturdays is beyond me, but alas, at least I had delicious tea to enjoy.

I was quite sure my tea would freeze in the -25 degrees before I even made it to work, but it didn’t. Yay!

This tea was really tasty this morning. A hint of a sweetness and lots of depth. I much prefer the tippy to the Golden Dragon Black that I had the other day. So much so I may be exploring the TTC website. Oh dear.

I opened this one this morning and the scent again reminded me of Bailin Gongfu from Teavivre. I really enjoy that scent.

Perhaps I oversteeped this at 3 minutes, but I wasn’t a huge fan of this for my morning commute (granted in a ceramic mug). It came off surprisingly floral. Floral! I’ll try my lot 241 of the tippy to see how they differ; and of course give this one another shot at a slightly shorter steep time.

Happy New Year everyone!

Enjoying this with my girl, in our beautiful teapot.

1st steep of 1 minute: almost smelling cinnamon from cup. Very light, sweet flavour. Very subtle flavour with short steep time.

2nd steep of 1 minute 45 seconds: roasty oolong scent, delicious. Slightly deeper flavour, not quite as light, but still light for drinking.

3rd steep of 3 minutes: roastier still and even more delicious. This may be my favourite steep.

Taiwan Tea Crafts is just amazing. I have so many black and oolong teas from them that I haven’t even opened yet, but already I want to place another order. I can’t say enough good about them!

drank Dorian Grey by Steam Tea House

Still working on perfecting the steeping time, but enjoying this tea nonetheless.

I’ve always had trouble with Earl Grey and I thought this sounded perfect when the lovely employee at Steam told me it was without bergamot. Yes!

The base is a touch finicky with steeping, but the other floral ingredients compliment it, even when I don’t manage the perfect steeping. I can only imagine how delightful it will be when I do.

For the moment, this is on my desk at work. It was a nice treat at work this afternoon.

I love black tea and this is usually what’s in my mug. I’m also happy to enjoy a cup of green or red rooibos (green preferable to red), herbals, oolongs (unroasted/green and red preferable to roasted), whites, and subtly flavoured greens (mango or pineapple, yum!).

Likes:
Raspberry, strawberry, peach, rhubarb, passionfruit, blackcurrant, redcurrant, fig, and most fruits in general, maple, creaminess, hay, biscuit, lavender, and cacao/dark chocolate.

I enjoy bergamot when paired with flavours that mellow it (Camellia Sinensis Earl Grey Cream is one of my favourites).

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, stevia, too much blackberry leaf, rose, jasmine, ginger (except in chai), cinnamon-heavy teas, anything cloying or fake/candy-like.

I’m vegan with an allergy to potatoes, so I avoid any animal products in tea, along with sprinkles as these often have potato starch (I usually just pick them out of blends).
