2326 Tasting Notes
This is pretty malty and nice with some milk and sugar. I’m enjoying it warm! I would drink this one again, though I wouldn’t buy it specifically. Glad I got to try it from the last TTB!
Sample from a TTB. This one is quite nutty and a little smoky. I feel like it reminds me of a toned down version of their chestnut tea, though it’s been many years since I’ve had that one. It’s decent with some milk and sugar, but I think I prefer their chestnut blend because I enjoy its boldness, and I don’t love the extra bit of smoke found here (though that flavor could be my imagination).
Inkling Advent Day 25. I’m really going to miss opening these teas from Inkling each morning! I got to try so many new things, and so many desserty teas in particular, I’m so thankful! I love rooibos, so this was a great way to finish the season. The gingerbread flavor is a bit more muted than I would prefer, but I could definitely tell what it was going for. It was nice sweetened with milk. This particular rooibos wasn’t my favorite, but it was fun and festive! For some reason, I found the rebrew to be much tastier and more gingerbready. Basically exactly what I was looking for from the first steep!
Inkling Advent Day 24. This is heading toward bitterness, so next time I’ll certainly give it a shorter steep. The flavor really does taste like chestnuts, plus that slightly harsh black tea. I’m enjoying it sweetened with milk, but it may be a little simplistic for me to want to purchase for myself. And as always, I wouldn’t mind the flavor being even stronger. I like the nuttiness though.
Inkling Advent Day 23. This is an interesting tea. It combines a bright candy strawberry with a slightly grassy green tea. Nothing about it is cakey, but the strawberry is tasty and even better with some milk added. Then it gets a strawberry and cream sort of vibe, which is fun, though the green tea does stick through a bit more than I would prefer.
Inkling Advent Day 22. This one smells so creamy and nice! It doesn’t taste as strong as it smells, but the cream/vanilla flavor is quite pleasant, if a little artificial. There’s also a bit of pepperiness randomly. I’m conflicted about this one because I do enjoy the cream a lot, but I feel like it needs to be paired with something like bergamot or something else.
Inkling Advent Day 21. There is so much cardamom in this, so I was expecting a ton to show up in the flavor. It’s slightly fruitier than I was expecting, and there’s definitely not as much cardamom, which I’m totally fine with. It’s also not a spicy chai. Sweetened with milk, I think it tastes pretty balanced and interesting. I’m enjoying it more than the majority of herbal chais, so that’s fun. I’m also enjoying the nuttiness. I’d definitely drink this again.
Inkling Advent Day 20. Hot, the raw walnut flavor is pretty strong. That’s the strongest flavor other than the somewhat harsh green tea. I smell banana, but I don’t really taste much. I added milk and left this in the fridge, and I’m enjoying it a lot more now. The banana and nut combine pleasantly with the green tea, and it’s really quite desserty and nice. It’s a very authentic green banana flavor, and I’m glad it showed up at last!
Saved a sample of this from the last TTB. This is an intriguing one. It tastes like white grape juice with floral elements. I don’t usually enjoy oolong, but it’s the perfect base for this flavor profile. I’m drinking this one cold, and I’m almost wishing I’d saved myself more than one serving! In general, I was pretty impressed by the Theodor offerings I got to try in the TTB, and I hope I come across more in the future!
