2727 Tasting Notes
We’ve never lived near a Trader Joe’s, so whenever we visited a town that had one, we’d always stock up on everything, including this tea. We’d absolutely demolish pitcher after pitcher of it iced. Unfortunately, they stopped carrying it a few years ago, and I saved my last bag to have on a special day. It’s just as good as I remembered. I’ll miss it so much! I’ve had a lot of honeybush and rooibos, but for some reason this one makes the best iced tea. It’s so smooth and sweet and truly different from other blends. I’ve been meaning to email them and see where this tea is sourced from, but I keep forgetting.
Okay this is the best 52teas flavor I have tried for sure. It’s the most accurate maple syrup I’ve tasted in a tea. It’s really like having a pancake breakfast. There’s no bitterness. It’s light and sweet and doesn’t need milk. The second steep was good too even though I steeped it too long. I love this tea!
I really liked this one and only tried a sampler, I’ve been waiting for them to restock. It said end of May on the website but… none available for now.
Sorry – I’ve been struggling to get caught up since my illness in November but I DO see the light at the end of the tunnel (the tunnel just happens to be a lot longer than I imagined it to be!) – anyway, this WILL be restocked by the end of July!
I’m happy that my two favorites so far (this and graveyard mist) are both on the permanent list! I hope you’re able to get some more when it’s back up, Kawaii (:
I’m almost finished with all the teabags in my stash! The boxes take up a lot of space, so it feels good to get them out. Anyway, this tea is more pleasant than its rating would lead you to believe. It’s essentially what you’d think of when you think English breakfast tea. It’s malty and lighter than some (though I also brewed it at a low temperature for a short amount of time). I wouldn’t seek this out, but it’s not a bad time.
This is a tea I had at a hotel. I like it less than other sleep teas I’ve had. The flavor is pretty muddled. I much prefer the Celestial Seasonings version where it’s pretty clearly chamomile and mint. Need to be careful with the steep times on this one since it can get bitter and strange. It’s okay.
Now this is a well done pumpkin spice. I was worried because I’ve disliked pumpkin teas from DavidsTEA before, but this one is really nice, and it’s even better with milk. The main flavor is cardamom, but that’s balanced with rooibos and the slight spice of the ginger. It does cause some mouth dryness, and there’s a hint of a strange flavor in there, so this blend isn’t perfect, but I’m having a good time.
Thanks to Mastress Alita for sharing! I love strawberry flavored things, and I love how huge rolled oolong becomes when it steeps. The flavor is lighter than I would have liked, but it is tasty. My family loves this one. The base tea is good and lacks bitterness. The strawberry comes out a little bit more when it’s cool. It isn’t flavorful enough for me to buy for myself, but I’m definitely enjoying it! Quite the pleasant oolong.
Not a tea I would have chosen for myself, but I’m happy to try it as part of my mystery bag. The primary flavor is jasmine. Honestly, that’s the only flavor I taste. The tea I have in my other mug is also jasmine (accidentally) so I’m able to compare them directly. I don’t mind jasmine, but it’s not something I’d drink more than about once a year. So anyway, this tea is good, but not that suited to my tastes. I would have liked to be able to taste some of the berry. I do like it better than pure jasmine since the other teas soften the flavor a bit at least.
This is another tea where I felt that the base was taking too much attention away from the other flavors (though I acknowledge that many people prefer the opposite in a tea). A lighter green or white would have been much better. I do like the citrus flavor that was used. This one gets bitter pretty easily. I made it with much cooler water the second time, which made it not bitter, but also didn’t allow the citrus flavor enough time to infuse. This one just isn’t balanced to my tastes.
