“One Steepster’s misfortune is another Steepsters Treasure.” – TeaEqualsBliss

I’m going to have to start copyrighting these…lol…

Thanks for your leftovers Jessica!!!

-Jessica-

No problem! I’m glad you like it…it was good, but a tad too rosey for my taste! The marzipan in it was delish though! ;-)

Auggy

Yay! I rejoice in your luckiness in getting some of this. I was so upset when Teavana discontinued it. Why couldn’t they take away Almond Biscotti? I know other places to get that one! But it seems like no one else makes this tea. I guess it was a special blend for Teavana. Boo.

TeaEqualsBliss

Auggy…I do have a little to share…and I’m sure Jessica won’t mind if I share as well! I am still preparing your package and can add some to yours! :)

Auggy

No no – I wasn’t hinting at all! Enjoy the rose marzipan delight – there won’t be more! You are being generous enough!

TeaEqualsBliss

Too bad! You’re already going to get some! LOL :P
(Already packaged it!) teehee

This is my 100th tasting note! Didn’t think I’d get here so soon!

Rose Marzipan was one of the teas in my Fire Sale box, and I was thrilled to see it in there. This is a discontinued blend, but one I’ve been wanting to try for a while. I’m pretty vocal about my love of rose blends, but I also adore marzipan. When I was a kid my parents used to get me the little fruit-shaped ones for Christmas every year. Actual marzipan seems really hard to get in tea-form, most “marzipan” teas just taste like almond. As a side note, I’d really love a rainbow cookie flavored tea—marzipan, chocolate, raspberry or apricot jam…. I have some in the fridge, and I think I am going to consume them immediately after writing this.

Anyway, back to the actual tea! The dry leaf and brewed tea smell very similar: heavily floral, but the rose is a little different than what I am used to. It’s kind of… sugary, like rose candies. Rose-flavored Turkish Delights! That’s what the smell is. And underneath, there’s heavenly marzipan—not almond, but pure and delicious marzipan. It smells better than it tastes, though it’s still good—it just loses some of those delicious candy notes. It’s mostly rose (sweet, though not as candy-like as the smell) and there’s a definite almond undertone. So close to marzipan, but not quite there! It’s still delicious, though I spend more time sniffing the mug than I did drinking it! Overall very pleasing, mostly because it appeals to some of my favorite tastes. I want to try the blend that replaced this now, though I’ve heard it’s not quite as good.

Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sharing this discontinued lovely with me! It’s probably the one rose tea I can really get behind… mostly because of the candied aspect to it. So tasty and it makes such a happy dessert tea for me.

Ya know I think I still have this one floating around somewhere.

This is the third one I am drinking today that I haven’t had in a while and I have totally noticed my palette has changed or my memory is off. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the taste of rose and mariapan. It was a sweet and relaxing treat. This is discontinued and I only have a bit left, fortunately it is still good. Yay for good storage.

If I wasn’t feeling so sick at the moment this would sound AMAZING! Maybe blended w/ your strawberry cream blend?

Aww…sorry get better soon :-)

It’s been a couple of years since Teavana discontinued Rose Marzipan Delight, and alas, the tea leaves are fading. It still tastes good, but it’s not nearly as glorious as it was a few years ago. The sweetness is slowly fading away, and there’s nothing I can do to arrest it.

This is the last time I’ll be logging this tea. I found a wee bit I had stashed away after the discontinuation. :( I opened the container and was hit with the lovely perfumey scent of the candied rose, and couldn’t help but sigh. This is my absolute favorite tea, and I’ve yet to find a good replacement for it. I’ve even been considering buying a rose tea and trying to supplement it with my own candied flowers.

The scent after brewing it just as sweet, but not as powerful as it was when dry. The tea itself is quite sweet on it’s own, but I love adding a touch of lavender-infused honey to amp it up a bit. It is a delicate rose flavor that compliments the black tea well.

It isn’t a complex tea, or anything super special. It was definitely one of my favorites, though, and it’s discontinuation adds to the bitterness I feel towards Teavana’s fruit-takeover. I seriously feel like they’re purposefully getting rid of the non-fruity teas sometimes.

Teavana no longer carries this. I have a little stash of it and just enjoyed some after my brother, without asking made a giant pot of it. So much for rationing it!

TeaEqualsBliss

I know it! I’m going thru the same thing right now…lol…

This is nothing if not unique. A wee bit sad they stopped making it because it was something so different on the market.

This tea has a very strong rose taste with background notes of marzipan. The black tea is smooth and not bitter. However the rose is overwhelming to me, perhaps just too much for my taste… I would have liked more of a marzipan taste with a hint of rose, but to each their own! If you like rose this is a plus for you, I actually have about 1.5oz of this tea left that I am looking to swap with someone if they’re interested.

TeaEqualsBliss

I would be interested! I really like this tea and it’s discontinued!

Tea for today was the (now discontinued) Roze Marzipan. 1tsp tea, few kernels sugar. The tea smelled absolutely delicious, but the rose was overpowering. I could smell the marzipan, but couldn’t taste it at all. The person that sold me the tea said her favorite part of the tea was the candied lavender pieces, and that she would spend all day in the store just picking out the lavender and eating them. She gave my friend and I each a piece and took one for herself. No wonder I didn’t get any lavender in my bag! I think the candied lavender would have really helped the flavor of the tea. I’m going to try to brew this for only a few minutes (as opposed to keeping it in the tumbler), add a little more sugar (I was told the lavender would naturally sweeten the tea, but seeing as how I didn’t get any…), and decant into a regular cup. Let’s see how that works.
