4g/cup Smells vegetal, buttery, floral, nutty

Smooth and buttery, vegetal, hint of citrus. Smooth, and oily texture coats the mouth. Brothy, soupy flavour and quality. A great bi lo chun, and a great Chinese green tea

Complex flavours of apricot, honey, bitterness, and flowers. Very different and interesting. Definitely enjoyed it, but it resembles a black tea more than an oolong.

I was reading reviews of Oolong and most surprised to see described as black tea. I like the robustness that can be found in good Oolong but don’t think of them as black tea. Foojoy Classic Oolong seems comparable perhaps. Unlike Wuyi traditional Oolong.

I think the robustness found in the cup makes one think of black tea; at least that was my impression when I had some Oolong, since I only drink green teas and found I liked Oolong as well.

Perhaps I have not made sense.

It’s malty with a crisp, fruity aftertaste. Lots of depth and flavour, but easy to drink. A delicious and satisfying tea that is endlessly smooth, with no bitterness or astringency.

2011 crop.

Smells fruity and delicious. Is fruity and delicious.

Surprisingly bold. Has some of the mellow notes that normally accompany later flushes. Not so spritely as last year’s First, but a solid showing.

Very sweet and somewhat syrupy. Spicy, full flavour. Not so strong it overpowers, but rich and unsubtle. Cloves mostly in the finish, which I like. One of the better cinnamon teas I’ve had.

Nothing spectacular, but a solid black tea. Smooth and malty. That being said, you can get better for cheaper.

Also not a huge fan of it being called single estate and them not mentioning which estate.

Odd. Kind of good and revolting at the same time. Better in small doses.

Can’t say I’d buy it or recommend it.

And I really hate selling teas based on the idea that they help you lose weight. Strawberry Slender? Come on…

2 tsp/cup This note is only from January – I’m catching up!

Smells like chocolate, puffed wheat, honey.

Smooth, chocolate, molasses, tobacco. Great, reminds me of some higher-quality Yunnan bud teas.
