From Teavana

Keemun, known as ‘the Queen of Fragrance,’ is a prized tea in China. With gently curled firm and slender leaves, this black tea brews copper in color and has a rich, smooth, honey-fragrant cup with a sweet, mellow ending. It makes a delicious way to enjoy your day.

This is a decent tea. Nothing special. Tastes like Keemun traditionally tastes-though a bit weaker. However, there is no bitterness at all. I get two satisfying steeps out of it. I would note that the liquor was lighter than the stock photo-more like a darker first flush darjeeling. I bought it during a free shipping special. I’ll probably buy it again some time-but only during another free shipping promo. I’ll be checking out other Keemuns in the meantime.

This is truly a superb tea. It can be infused twice and the character actually deepens with the second cup. Its deeper, yet less cautious taste.

Every sip takes you a few steps up the stairway.

My friend got some of this tea and brought it over to make a cup with me after christmas. The smell of the dried leaves is musky and rich, and also very strong. There are some gold tips in the tea, always a good sign. We steeped it for a little over 3 minutes (1 teaspoon per 8 oz) with just boiled water, and were both taken aback by how good this tea is. The flavor is so rich that I couldn’t help making two pots of it. It’s earthy and strong, and also wakes you right up. Very solid tea

This tea is a deliciously complex blend of smokey, sweet and dark. I love the smooth, smokey finish and the sweet middle notes.

Blended w/Chocolate Chai (Teavana). I wanted a little more spice or flavor in my tea today, but not a full-on chai with milk/cream and sweetener (usually stevia for me), so I did ~1 tsp. Capital of Heaven Keemun with ~2 tsp. Chocolate Chai, per 16 oz. water. (I never know how to specify tea blends with the “how much” options on these notes).

im bumping back the rating on this tea. when i first started drinking this, i liked how over the top the sweet potato taste was, but the more i drink it, the more it gets to me. its kind of like over-indulging in strong caramel. when you first start eating it, you think its wonderful, but the more you eat, the more it gets to you. this tea is just a little too rich for me in the long run.

A decent black tea, with some floral undertones, as many Chinese black teas have. Nothing too special, but a decent cup to have while working on the computer.

I like steeping it a lower temperature than most black teas though, since I feel like this particular tea develops more bitter flavours from high heat.

This tea initially put me off because it has a very astringent scent to it. However, once you taste it, it has warm notes and almost a spiced root vegetable flavor to it. It is definitely a winter tea, but I quite enjoy it on cold winter nights.

This is my first Keemun. I like it a lot—I realized that this is what’s missing in so many of the disappointingly anemic English Breakfast blends that I’ve tried. I’m going to have to try more keemuns, since I see people saying this one is good but not their fave.
