42 Tasting Notes
I’m pretty sure I didn’t order the small package of this that came in my order from Yunnan Sourcing recently. Thanks for the sample!
I really like this a lot. Had a cup yesterday afternoon—ah, I guess that’s what people are meaning when they say “malty”? Very nice. Not bitter or astringent. It brewed up very dark, and I thought maybe it would be one I’d have to drink up with milk, but no.
Wish I could say something more sophisticated about the flavor, this tea probably deserves it. But that is not my strong suit.
Preparation
Drinking up the last bit of this on my shelf! I quite like it, though I’m not terribly fond of the licorice/anise part of the flavor. It’s difficult to find a good herbal tea blend that isn’t super sweet or full of things I don’t like much (hibiscus, the aforementioned licorice). There’s enough going on here otherwise that I mostly enjoy it, particularly the cinnamon and peppercorns.
I’m…hmm. I’m not sure if I liked this. More detail here: http://www.annleckie.com/2015/12/23/yak-butter-tea/
Yeah, Yunnan Sourcing typically includes a sizable free sample in every order. I got this one as a sample too!
I think this is the first time I’ve ordered from them! I’m pretty happy so far!
This sounds exactly like something I would like. I’ll wishlist it now, before I forget. Thanks!
