I see the light! I finally made this properly and wow. So Good!!!! I’m glad I kept trying to make it just right. I used a bit of agave and soy milk to put this together in a delish latte. Yes please. I’ll take another!

Babble

It does take a little bit to make a good matcha. I remember the first time I used a little too much and it was just awful. Remember that more matcha does not necessarily mean more flavor.

Glad you found something that works for you :)

The mocha matcha is the first flavored matcha from Red Leaf that I truly get a hint of the flavor in my sip. I have only ordered the delicate flavoring because I wanted to get used to the taste of matcha and make sure I like the actual tea and not just the flavor. So this one I made as a hot cup this morning and was kind of surprised it tasted to strongly!

I’ve always thought of mocha as more of a chocolate than a coffee flavor but this matcha is an awesome balance of the two. It’s smooth and rich and it has a naturally robust flavor without any artificial sweetness, and with an extra and actually pleasant bitterness. I say pleasant because to me mocha is bitter and this is true flavor.

I’ll definitely finish my bag of it, but I don’t think this is a flavor I will reorder. I really loved the English Toffee flavor and recently tried and enjoyed the Caramel too. I think I prefer more of a desserty flavor or a fruit flavor matcha, especially if I’m putting it in a smoothie.

Going through my cupboard and writing mega backlogs. I had the pleasure of trying this thanks to the lovely Sil! I quite liked this one. A hint of coffee mixed in with some dark chocolate. I especially liked this one as a cold latte.

Ultimately, however, I think I’d rather keep my matcha and mocha separate. While it’s yummy, whenever I want mocha, I want the real thing, you know? But that said, mocha/coffee lovers ought to try this.

Here’s one from Roswell Strange! Thank you – I’d heard good things about this one and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s definitely more chocolate than coffee, but the coffee lingers in the aftertaste. It’s very nice. :D

Sil, this is WEIRD! It’s coffee, but it’s green, and it’s matcha. My brain doesn’t know what to do!

I’ve made it as a warm latte. It’s pretty good, but the flavour isn’t quite right, nor is the colour. :) I think if I want a coffee, I’ll just have a coffee.

Thank you for sharing, but this isn’t a flavour I’ll be keeping on my list! :)

I have trouble with coffee flavoured teas too haha.

Sipdown (165/169)!

Woke up at the crack of dawn this morning.

Ok, not really. I woke up at nine: but that was a full two and a half hours earlier than I was expecting to wake up/the alarm was set for – and I felt surprisingly well rested despite going to bed at like 4 AM. Anyway, it gave me extra tea drinking time so I finished this one up in some cold milk while catching up on the new Whose Line episodes.

“What can you say about your house, but not your girlfriend?”

Mmm! The coffee/chocolate was pretty well balanced today and everything whisked up well. I think I’ll miss it, actually. Definitely considering whether I’d want to add it into an order…

There’s new Whose Line episodes? Really? :O

I wish they were on Netflix… SO BAD.

Chocolate almond milk, a bit of mocha greek yogurt, and a generous scoop of this equals a delicious Starbucks drink. Add some softened chia seeds and you have chocolate sprinkles. So good.

I thought Sil was crazy for having three coffee based matcha flavours (Mocha, Coffee, Tiramisu) but they are turning out to be good things. :)

Flavors: Chocolate
