I’m hooked on this for my morning fix. The guayusa blends well with the mint medley (peppermint and spearmint) and the cinnamon bark and flavor. It’s a peppy blend. I’ve gotten two coworkers hooked too!

I’m going to use metallic sprinkles again. The gold sprinkles make the tea shimmery, in spirit of the season.

12 Days of Christmas Tea – Day 10

Yes, I’m not really logging these in correct order. This one is actually a backlog, but I have other teas I haven’t even tried yet. So .. uh.. don’t expect them to be numerical, but they’ll get there eventually.

This was a custom blend from KeenTeaThyme and it came in a cute little tin and everything. It was actually quite delicious. The spearmint and cinnamon was quite strong, but I didn’t really taste any guayusa. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. This tea also has gold sparkles in it, which I didn’t realize until AFTER I brewed it in a dark cup. D’oh. Next time, I’ll brew this in a white cup so I can enjoy the sparkles.

As a side note, I actually took a tea blending class in early December. I wish it would have been early enough for my Christmas swap b/c I would love to have designed a tea around my Christmas day theme. But, alas, it was not meant to be.

Glad you enjoyed this! Tea blending is so much fun – welcome to the “club.” :) Maybe next year, if we do the same exchange, you can use one of your own blends! :)

Thanks Keen for an amazing blend – I’m finally getting the chance to try it tonight after a crazy Christmas Eve at work. Oh business mad getting mad that we sold out of all the big gifts. Yesterday. Next time, don’t do your big christmas shopping on christmas eve? Ahem.

That aside – I’m drinking this tonight so I can stay awake for Mike to get home from work around Midnight! Then to sleep just in case Santa pops by.

The blend is very smooth! Surprisingly mellow (in a good way) with all that mint – I think the cinnamon cuts through to create a taste very pleasing to the senses. Thank you!

Thank you to KeenTeaThyme for this representation of Day 10 in our 12 Days of Christmas tea swap. It’s really tasty!

I like the combination of the cinnamon and the mint … the cinnamon is warm yet sweet, and the mints add a crisp, invigorating taste to the cup. I don’t taste a lot of the Guayusa here, the cinnamon, peppermint and spearmint seem to be overpowering it just a tad, but, it’s still really good … a very nice way to get motivated on such a chilly day (the kind of day that you’d rather just stay curled up under the covers … but I can’t because today is the day we are celebrating our holiday, so I have a bunch of stuff to get done for our feast)

Nicely done, KeenTeaThyme!

Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve gotten two coworkers hooked on it. We are guayusa fans for life. I love that it’s energizing without that black tea taste, and no jitters! :)

Anyhoo, hope you have a wonderful holiday! :)

Thanks … yes, that is what I like about guayusa as well, and it has a pleasing smooth flavor. I like Yerba Mate too, but sometimes it’s a tad too earthy for my taste. Guayusa is smoother.

I received some of this from keen thanks so much. I am also using my new blu tooth keeyboard for my ipad so sorry about the typing skills or lack there of…just getting used to it.

LOVED the sugar and gold in this. The cinnamon and sugar contrasted with the mint. Different but good. I like this because it;s different

nice creation

Apologies for the delay in posting. I didn’t get to this on the 10th day but it did help me stay awake on Christmas Eve to finish wrapping presents. This blend seemed immediately familiar and very herbal. I’ve had a few other blends of mint and cinnamon and/or tulsi and they are very comforting. Just as I was settling into the first cup, the tea morphed into something unique that I’ve never tried before, though I don’t think it was just the guaysa. The tea took on a shimmering quality and I’m not just talking how it looked, but rather how in felt. Somehow the glitter had an effect on my taste buds and it was like this mint and cinnamon tea had been turned into candy and then turned back into tea. Hard to describe, but very enjoyable. Thank you KeenTeaThyme and well done on a magical blend, Leaping Lords indeed!
