From Golden Moon Tea

Let’s hear it for some of the worlds best tea gardens! They’ve given us three pure Indian teas we can blend with a little Chinese Keemun. The result is a coppery liquor that excites our taste buds with its brisk and complex flavor. The flavor is a bit toasty with a bit of fresh gardenias as a high note. Like most traditional English Breakfast teas, it is great with a spot of milk and a spoonful of sugar.

Tea & Cards TTB #12
Ugh, today brought a string of little failures. I tried to mail off the TTB, but there was some problem with the tape or something. I was then late for class and couldn’t get hot water for my tumbler. Then as I was trying to keep awake in class, I somehow managed to get a papercut right between my fingers, eek. Anyway, I finally managed to get some hot water between classes (hooray!) for this tea. The tea was nice and bold as a breakfast tea should be, yet it was also a bit sweet. As it cooled down, I could swear I almost tasted an apple-like flavor, but that may be contamination from my tumbler or other teas stored next to it. Thankfully, it’s now the weekend, so I can recharge for a better start to next week!

I hope tomorrow is better. :)

It’s a sign you have to sample more TTB teas!

Sample. Had with a touch of half&half and honey. Didn’t wow me, but is fine as far as plain black teas go.

Brewed up my sample cup of this tea to take with on the way to work. WHAM, it is one strong tea. Great malty flavor after a 3 minute steep. Wish I would have paid more attention to this tea as I think it was quite good, I just don’t remember what else I tasted.

This smells much fuller then the Twinnings I’ve been drinking.
I’m not very sure how to describe this tea but I find it better then other English Breakfast teas I’ve had. It doesn’t seem like anything special to me though. I think I like teas with another layer of flavor right now. Perhaps I’ll try lemon in the future with this. I’ve never been fond of sugar in tea and cream just doesn’t do much positive or negative for me. This might be a tea that I will stock in the future. There are plenty of people who like the simpler black teas and my not like my other selections and this is a pretty good tea for the morning.

Brews up a pale amber with a slight greenish-yellow cast. Smells of the ocean – salt and seaweed. Taste has a mellow sweetness of grapes. Seaweed returns in the finish. Smooth mouth feel. Very little astringency.

An assertive English Breakfast tea. A parade of flavors—one sip tastes more smokey, the next more fruity—different notes in the blend make themselves known throughout the cup. Not wimpy, a real palate cleanser. Takes milk and sugar well, if that’s your pleasure.

Brewed 3 min. No additives. Hot
If you like “normal” black tea you’ll like this. It has all of the characteristics of tea that I avoid… including that weird tannin feeling in the back of my mouth, and that strange after taste that I have been told is the sign of a “good” black tea.
So it’s probably very good…. even though I don’t like it. K-Thnks
