Bumping the rating down for this one because cold, this tea was awful. It was incredibly vegetal and maybe a hint of peach flavor, but the aftertaste was just terrible. I’ll either finish the rest of the bag hot or give it away.

Another from the Spring Mystery Box that just doesn’t do anything for me. Which is absolutely not the fault of the mystery box, as I probably would have elected to try this tea on my own anyhow. It sounded interesting, and I do like vegetables.

Unfortunately I’ve had this a few times now and well, it does taste like veggies, but not in any way I would want to drink. The green tea base is barely there and the carrot pieces just take over the whole thing. The peach blends into the other veggies. In the end, I felt like I was drinking a watered down, slightly sweet, vegetable soup. I’m sure a rabbit would love it, though.

Ok first of all, I know I’ve reviewed this before. It even shows that I’ve rated it in the box near the top of the screen, though not on the bar below my text as I type. But my review is nowhere to be found. Grrr! I was hoping to refer back and look at my notes. I mean, that was the original reason I signed up here (come for the reviews, stay for the tea frens!).
Sighs. Anyhow. This was a whole lot fruitier than I recall. I remember it being more remnicent of a garden with notes of carrot and other non green vegetal things. But today, I’m getting sweet peach mostly. It is pretty old so perhaps carrot fades faster than the other ingredients. Now it’s just a plain ol’ fruity green. Oh well.

Such an odd tea, but it’s actually pretty decent. More or less a tropical-fruity green; mild green base and the primary flavours are perhaps peach/mango/pineapple, or in that realm. I’m not sure if the dehydrated veggies add much, but there is kind of a vegetal thickness to the tea, which is perhaps the result. Overall, definitely happy to have tried this, though flavoured greens are pretty much my least favourite tea category.

Yeah… Most flavored greens are pretty low on the totem pole for me too. The only real exception is citrus. :)

Anlina

I was really tempted by this one, but it looks like I didn’t miss too much.

Kittenna

Cameron – I’d have to agree, since my 52teas’ Sun & Cloud Mist is one of my fave flavoured teas. I think my biggest problem, though, might be the crap/boring sencha bases that are used. Or the boring flavour combos.

Anlina – No, I wouldn’t say it’s anything overly special. Certainly drinkable, even tasty, and moderately entertaining with some of the ingredients, but the flavour is familiar.

I really hate when teas are mis named. This tea does have peas and corn in it, and it’s pretty to look at – but this is a peach green tea. I’m not getting any “garden” at all.
This is actually a really nice peach tea – much better than several “peach” teas that I’ve tried.
Why is my new favorite peach tea called A Rabbit’s Garden? It’s just frustrating. Is my favorite pear teas still out there but it’s called something so strange I haven’t found it….

DeliriumsFrogs

I never would have tried it BECAUSE it’s named ‘a rabbit’s garden’, but now that I know it’s a peach tea, I’m going to add it to my ‘wish list’. lol

Dexter

That’s what I don’t like about mis-named teas – I’m afraid there are great ones out there that I’m missing because I don’t recognize them for what they really are. This is strange to look at, but really nice light peachy green tea. I don’t have any left or I would send you some. Hope someone sees it on your wish list and send you get to try it. :))

DeliriumsFrogs

Oh, that’s so kind of you! But, I’m happy as a clam just getting to read your note on it. I would absolutely never have given this tea a second glance, but now it’s one to add to the ‘try this someday!’ list….and it’s always fun to add to that list. :)

Huh. I was expecting something more savory. But I’m not disappointed overall.

This is sweeter and more peachy (and not an offensive gummy-like peach either) than I was anticipating. There are lots of buttery veggie notes, though. The corn comes out stronger and adds a savory sweetness that is unique, but pleasant.

Overall, a really unique, inspired brew.

If it managed to escape your notice, this blend has carrots in it, as well as peas, corn and peaches; it makes for one very colorful and somewhat unusual tea. I’ll admit, I was having a hard time getting past the whole there are veggies in my tea thing. I half expected it to be more of a savory tea than one suited to springtime, but the flavor ended up surprising me. Rather than savory the corn, carrots, and peach add a sweetness that went surprisingly well with the green base. I tried this tea hot, but it is another blend that I think would make a refreshing iced tea, unfortunately the weather is still a bit on the nippy side and I’m still drinking copious amounts of hot tea to keep warm.

Well, this is pretty anti-climactic. I don’t know why but I was expecting something mind-blowing and unique . This is not that. It is slightly peachy with a hint of veggie flavor but mostly it is just meh. Well, now, thanks to the wonderful Roswell Strange (thank you!!), I have been able to try this for myself and realize that it is not as special as it might seem.

ETA: As I continue to sip, the veggies come out a bit more which is making this tea more notable and more than just another sorta fruity cup. Still it is not something that I need to have in my cupboard. Though I am glad to have another cup.

I think I love the name of this tea most of all the things about it. It sounds like it should be magical, you know?

Cheri

I’ve seen this one described a few times and even went and looked at ordering it, just because it is so unique. I just can’t bring myself to do it.

Plunkybug

I have a little of this one left…I’m saving either for Easter or for a cold steep when it is warmer. Nit sure which yet.

I just realized I am nine blog posts away from my 200th post, awesome! I will have to do something fancy for my 200th post, maybe I will throw a tea party Other than being on the mend, having some snow flurries, and making stars, it has been a very basic uneventful day. Tomorrow or Friday, however, Ben has promised me a trip to the thrift store to get a new iron, hooray!

Today’s tea is A Rabbit’s Garden by Della Terra Tea, this unusual tea came to me by accident, I ordered the Try Me Sampler and one of the teas I selected were out of stock so they substituted this one. I was a bit miffed because I was really excited for the other tea, but hey, I like trying new things! This tea is a blend of Green Tea, Green Peas, Corn Kernels, Peach Pieces, Carrot Bits, and Lemongrass, this tea truly is a garden in a cup. The aroma is very peachy with corn sweetness, there is an underlying aroma of dried peas and slight vegetal green. The aroma is very sweet, it is like an orchard with peaches and fresh vegetation.

After giving the garden a good watering the aroma of the brewed leaves is still very sweet and fruity, best of all there is no aroma of lemongrass (I still don’t like lemongrass). There is more of a vegetal tone specifically peas and spinach. I have to admit the aroma is a little odd. The liquid is very mild, quite peachy but not as sweet, with a touch of corn as well. As a finishing note there is a bit of vegetal.

The taste is surprisingly good, like really surprising for a tea made out of peas and corn. Imagine drinking veggie broth (made from the instant dip or soup mix that comes in packets) and then immediately drinking peach juice. And having both tastes in your mouth. It is a strange blend of flavors but it not unpleasant. There are notes of peach, spinach, tart lemons, it is very vegetal and very fruity. Once the tea cools the corn adds a bit of a nutty taste, the aftertaste is lemony and sharp and leaves a dryness in the mouth.

Drinking this straight because it needs no sugar and I think milk would ruin it. It’s vegetal but sweetened with hints of peach. It’s pretty good, even better than I expected. I think it could have stood another minute in steeping but it’s still really good.
