From DAVIDsTEA

We take French toast very seriously around here. Which is why we created this sweet and buttery cardamom-spiced black tea with a dusting of cinnamon and cane sugar. It’s rich. It’s spicy. And it tastes just like the decadent breakfast of our dreams. Only this is one brunch tea you’ll be craving all day long.

Black tea, cinnamon, lemon peel, coriander seeds, cardamom, coconut sugar, cane sugar, natural and artificial flavouring

I want a candle that smells just like this tea! The aroma is creamy, spicy, sweet breakfast deliciousness. The flavor doesn’t quite live up. It’s mildly spicy and sweet with a hint of vanilla, but not as rich as I was hoping.

This is the perfect sweet and spiced black tea. I love that it tastes just like french toast with a hint of cardamom. It reminds me of cardamom pastries from Sweden which I absolutely couldn’t get enough of. I like it with a bit of milk and sugar, although it is already a bit sweet. It’s great as a dessert tea, but I like it first thing in the morning for breakfast and for brunch.

It is the perfect amount of sweet, I love it, I think it’s become an official tea I drink in the winter for.

I bought this one at the recommendation of the salesperson, after mentioning I like spiced teas. It definitely is a dessert tea, but it’s pretty good and does actually remind me of French toast. They pre-sweeten it a bit by adding coconut sugar, which does make sense given the French toast flavor, but takes it out of my usual morning rotation.

Not bad, although I’m not a huge ‘spice’ fan when it comes to my tea, thats the only reason why I rated it a 65. If I did like spicy tea I’d rate it higher for sure.

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE

I usually hate teas that have vanilla or maple-y flavors, but this is super good. I wouldn’t have bought it if I hadn’t read some of the reviews on here, so thanks, y’all. I had tried it plain, then added a little sweetener and cream and it was perfection.

Got this from the ‘christmas treats’ sampler. Great black tea, definitely need to keep some of that stuff on hand.

l like the subtle spices but it was obvious by looking at the tea that cardamom lovers like myself would be disappointed. The flavour of cardamom comes from the seeds so leaving them in the pods for visual effect detracts from the flavour, which is the point. I’ll try it again using more tea but I wasn’t impressed, as the flavour was lacking.

You just can’t go wrong with this tea, in my opinion. I just use one David’s Tea spoon, unless I’m making a latte where I bump it up to two. I’ve had it black, great. I’ve had it with a splash of milk (how I usually take it), wonderful. I’ve had it as a latte, superb. It is just an all around excellent tea.

It’s sweet, but not too sweet, and spicy but not even close to being overwhelming. Most teas that are inspired by desserts or ‘real’ food to me come off as either very fake or just not even close. Somehow, someway, Cardamom French Toast does taste like french toast. A bit of a bready note with some body, sweet syrupy flavor, and of course some spicy/sweet cardamom.

Granted this tea has a lot of ingredients, nobody would call it natural, but it really works to curb sweet cravings for me, something other teas generally only halfway achieve. This one tastes like a dessert, even with just a tablespoon of milk.

If it is ever in danger of being discontinued again, I’ll have to do a decent stock up. And then cry.
