From DAVIDsTEA

Soothing and smoothing

People have been buzzing about mulberry leaves for all sorts of reasons lately, but we just can’t stop talking about how good they taste. Combined with macadamia nuts, they make for a tea that is sweet, complex, and slightly earthy. Do they really have tons of other benefits, as the health freaks claim? We’re too happy to care. Caffeine-free. (MK Kosher)

Ingredients: Mulberry leaf, organic macadamia nuts, natural flavouring*.

I am in love with this tea! It is so, so similar to Pistachio Cream from DT (which I also love an enjoy, but is sadly discontinued) It’s rich and creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness for my tastes. I enjoy this tea sometimes as is just steeped in hot what and other times with a splash of milk or better yet as a latte! It reminds me of a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie, MmMmmm!

This drink is as creamy a taste as you can get without actually containing any milk. Very mild and pleasant, a bit like vanilla cake batter when you add a little sugar. I use more than the 1.5 tsp of leaf recommended on the packet – at least two teaspoons. The leaves are really lush, almost like a good oolong. Don’t oversteep or it gets a bit spinach-like.

I still have some left. Not bad but I’m not crazy about it, probably won’t buy again. Not sure the nuts work with the mulberry leaves.

I <3 macadamia nuts. This tea is the next best thing to taking a sweet bite out of a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie! (My favorite cookie…) The mulberry leaves provide an earthy, yet sweet flavor, which balances the nutty flavor from the macadamia nuts. I would recommend letting this one steep until the cows come home!

This an herbal tea, with mulberry leaves, and macadamia nuts. I feel bad for people who are allergic to macadamia and/or mulberry because they will never get to taste this truly magical tea.

This tea is especially near and dear to my heart. It was the very first David’s Tea I ever tried. I walked into the store and the sales ladies gave me a little cup of this tea.

When I first tasted it, it was really nothing special, and I guess I was really overwhelmed because it was my first time there, so I wasn’t really thinking about the tea I has just drank. But my mom, who was there with me and also tried the Mulberry Magic, loved it and bought 50g of it. So when I was able to taste the tea and enjoy it in the comfort of my own home, it grew on me and became (and still is) my favorite tea EVER.

When my third cousin from Germany came to visit me, I brought her to David’s Tea and she was very overwhelmed by all the teas. I told her to try this one. Even though it was iced (I’m not a fan of cold tea) it was great, and my cousin loved it too!

You will never ever ever get tired of this,

Essentially tastes like the limited-time Cookie Dough blend, which is really nice. I bring it out when I want that hit of nostalgia.

This tea is a great tea to drink in the evening when you don’t want something caffeinated. It’s a nice change from rooibos. I like the flavour of the mulberry leaves, it leaves a really smooth flavour. Definitely will be purchasing again.

I really wanted to like this one. I really did! This is my first mulberry leaf tea and I loved the sweet smell of it. Brewed, I found it to be quite unpleasantly vegetal. I’ve tried with an assortment of brewing temps and times, but nothing makes me like this tea. Nothing. It’s so sad.

this herbal has a wonderful flowery and nutty aroma – but the taste, in my first two cups of this, doesnt seem to live up to its beautiful smell. am i brewing this wrong? should i be brewing more or less? in boiling or under-boiled water? any suggestions welcome. will try again, and re-rate.

re-rate: i tried brewing this twice after this first review, and now finally feel like this infusion makes sense to me. the water should be just under boiling – and, it should be said, this taste infinitely better brewed in a tea pot than in the DavidsTEA linen steeping bags. I feel like they gave the tisane an added “something” that detracted from the simplicity of the mulberry and nut. i like it a lot better now.
