12 Tasting Notes
an amazing fruity infusion. dry, and steeped, this tea has such a pleasant aroma of apples and oatmeal and nuts… the beet gives it a gorgeous pink hue and a natural sweetness … i am NOT a fruit-tea person. i was expecting more of a nutty flavour. but this mix was such a lovely surprise, and i’m delighted to have found another herbal infusion (aside from Mulberry magic) from DavidsTEA that i am enthusiastic about.
Preparation
Loving this brazil-nutty black tea! i bought a cup of it to go – just to try – when i was picking up a tin of my Mulberry Magic, which i’ve decided will be my go-to herbal for the next few weeks. I’m going to go ahead an proclaim this the idea black tea for a latte! and – judging from my enthusiasm for the green tea with toasted walnut, mulberry with macadamia, and this brazil nut black tea – i’m pretty sure i’m in a nutty tea phase, which i never thought i’d say, because the idea of nuts and tea seemed pretty gross to me a few months ago.
this herbal has a wonderful flowery and nutty aroma – but the taste, in my first two cups of this, doesnt seem to live up to its beautiful smell. am i brewing this wrong? should i be brewing more or less? in boiling or under-boiled water? any suggestions welcome. will try again, and re-rate.
re-rate: i tried brewing this twice after this first review, and now finally feel like this infusion makes sense to me. the water should be just under boiling – and, it should be said, this taste infinitely better brewed in a tea pot than in the DavidsTEA linen steeping bags. I feel like they gave the tisane an added “something” that detracted from the simplicity of the mulberry and nut. i like it a lot better now.

A wonderfully soft tea, with a beautifully light flavour – a bit fruity but not overwhelming. this is the newest tea in the Wellness collection. i got a small sample from the Kusmi boutique in Montreal, where they have started selling Løv stuff (i dont know if its the same company?? you can’t buy the loose stuff in bulk – only in the pre-packed tins). and i will definitely be going back to get a bigger thing of this… the price point is not very inviting, but i think it could be a beautiful treat for myself.
This is such an excellent tea. soft, citrusy and sweet, but with a bit of green bitterness. the aroma is incredible and with a slightly lower water temp and shorter steeping time, it is perfect, sans sugar, milk, or creme – it needs absolutely nothing but a big mug to hold it in.

had this today at a DavidsTEA location, using their fabulous steeper. and i really wanted to love it, but i didn’t. the aroma and flavour was more rooibos than caramel when i drank it. it wasn’t as smooth as i thought it would be. a bit disappointing. perhaps the water they put in was too hot? if i try again, id prefer to do it on my own. they offered it in latte form so i would probably try it again as a latte over the counter.
my first Kusmi tea experience – there is a Kusmi boutique on Saint Denis in Montréal that I stumbled on this afternoon in the blistering cold, and ended up picking up a few bags of loose teas to try as a treat. the price point for this tea is definitely a few levels above my usual of DavidsTEA. but i must say the aroma of the dry maté was fabulous. i might need to try this again with less tea or less steeping time, because the flavour was almost too powerful. More orangey than chocolate once it’s steeped and ready to drink. i think id like to try this with some hot milk next time.
