I am trying so hard to love this one, it just misses the mark. I am not a fan of bitter tea’s at all, and I feel the dark chocolate chips used in the blend adds a lot of bitterness. I would love to try it with milk chocolate chips instead. Milk and sugar didn’t really help my case with this one…as other have said it may be due to the Chinese base instead of using a traditional Indian one. Crank up the heat and the sweetness and this will be a real winner.

This tea smells awesome, but the chocolate is a bit weak and I don’t taste the spice from the chili at all. It doesn’t taste bad, but it’s just not a very strong or flavorful tea. However, I tend to like my tea pretty strong and I’ve noticed that my friends like this tea a lot. I would recommend putting super boiling water in it to get maximum flavor.

Was this the tea I tried at your house? Because if it is, then I liked it… even if I didn’t taste any of the chili. Maybe it should have steeped longer?

This is my go-to tea for when I want hot chocolate, but not the 200-300 calories that come with it. Teas aren’t usually thick and rich, but this one really, really is. A little sweetener, a little milk, and it’s almost as good as a real hot chocolate, with just a little bit of kick of the chilies. My only regret is that it’s a limited edition tea. I may need to pick up a significant quantity before it runs out.

Not bad for a chocolate tea. First cup I tasted the chili but it took a while to click and realize thats what it was. Its not a spicy chili. Mellow. Its different and Ok, first cup I thought maybe I could see myself buying it full size. subsequent cups I thought it was nice to try and I would rather move on. Wouldn’t mind another sample but I don’t think I need a full size. Its more broken leaf than I expected too. The banana bread ok had full leaves although there were few.

I had considered ordering this one, so I was pleased to see it in a TTB. I can taste the chocolate a little, but I’m not getting enough of a chai element. I’m especially not tasting any chili. As it cools, the chocolate tastes faker and faker. With milk, it’s drinkable, but I’m really not getting the complex spicy flavor I was looking for. And it’s really, really fake tasting.

Davids Tea Advent Day 5

This was fun! Mostly chocolate with just a hint of spice, a great blend hot that’s still tasty when it settles to room temp. Adding this to my shopping list.

Alright, so this time I steeped extraaaaaaa lonnnng, and I didn’t add any milk this time either. I really wanted to taste the chocolate, chillies and the chai this time! Yay I’ve got it! I rated it 70 before but im bumping it up to an 82! Holy does the ancho chili ever come through once it cools a little bit. Oh man my last sip was spicy! It’s a very nice tea actually!

I got a free 50 g bag of this tea back in the fall. I’ve been wanting to try it for quite some time out of nothing more than morbid curiosity. Needless to say, I wasn’t expecting much. A tea with chocolate and chilli peppers sounded too bizarre to be any good. Boy, was I wrong. This tea has a nice chocolate flavour that is the most prominent and a secondary kick of spice at the end. I really enjoyed this one. I’ll likely pick up some more of this in the future as my 50 g is now all gone.
